MANNINGHAM LIBRARY

The first opening of this heritage structure took place in 1910, and on April 21, Helen Broadhead began a wonderful guided heritage tour at Manningham Library. The building’s front showcases great writers through 4 magnificent stone works: Wordsworth, Milton, Shakespeare, and Chaucer. It offers the entire range of services of the library. 

The home of Manningham Tradesmen was built to offer accommodations for retirees. However, these lovely chapels and houses were constructed specifically to accommodate "decayed craftsmen.” The other is Manningham Mills, an enormous factory producing silk then. It was constructed to replace the real Manningham Mills, which were destroyed in 1871 due to fire.

The library consists of various amenities and services including access for the disabled, a photocopier, a community garden, daily newspapers, council information, local history separate children's activity room, a wifi zone, meeting rooms that are available for a cost, books of an Asian language, and much more.
