About Midland Air Museum

A trip to the Midland Air Museum will take aviation buffs to new heights. Over 45 aircraft call this amazing facility, which is located next to Coventry Airport, their permanent home. In 1967, a small group of aviation enthusiasts began amassing what would become a world-class museum. Explore the bomber Vulcan, take a seat in the cockpit of the fighter plane Meteor, discover the origins of aviation in the region known as the Midlands, and get personal and up-close with the life story of Sir Frank Whittle, the Coventry-born engineer who designed the first British jet-powered aircraft. Jet engines, seen here for the first time from within and without, will utterly transform your perspective. After taking in all the sights, rest your weary eyes with a visit to the Argosy Tea Room for a hot beverage and a snack, or peruse the gift store for a model aeroplane set, aviation-themed art, or souvenirs.
