Durham Museum and Heritage Centre are among the most important places to visit in Durham. The museum features an exhibit that is connected to textile & costume, applied & decorative art, war & weapons, personalities, archaeology, science & technology, archives, land transport, social history, and fine arts. Many attractive remains of the past are must-see.

Durham Museum and Heritage Centre are located in a historic listed building that was once the parish church in the North Bailey. The heritage center was rebuilt in the 17th century and still houses some fantastic historical woodwork. Make sure to check it out.

The fantastic museum also owns a garden that used to be a churchyard and contains two well-known local artists' sculptures. Both the sculptures are must-see.

Museum displays exhibits of fascinating objectives which depict the city's origins and how it improved over time and illustrate the people's industries, life, and lost trades. 

Durham Museum and Heritage Centre display the great model of the city during the medieval time along with the crime and punishment section, including Victorian prison cells and many unique backlit stained-glass windows to gaze at. Do not miss to check out the death chair in the school section.
