Worcester Guildhall Overview

The grade-I building of Worcester Guildhall, located in the HIgh Street, is the municipal building which was built in 1721. It has been designed in a timber-framed structure and was utilised as a meeting place for the local merchants. Adore the architecture and beauty of the venue with your family or friends.

One of the most beautiful buildings and tourist places to visit in Worcester, this building dates back to 1721. The Guildhall Worcester holds a legacy of fascinating history as it once had served as the seat of justice, a local meet place of merchants. Once it was also turned into a prison and finally converted into a municipal office. Owing to the Queen Anne style of the building, its chief architect added white marble in the structure of the design of the building.

The layout of the building involves a central bay and two wings, large columns and an arch at the top displaying flute playing cherubs and the Royal arms. The inside of the building is even more spectacular, the ceiling is all designed in Italian style and with different portraits of Royalty and Mayors whom it has been housing for so long. You would be surprised to note that you can even rent the space for various events, there are different rooms available for little meetup like events as well.
