The Wakefield cathedral was once a parish church but now over the centuries it has become a beautiful cathedral. The beautiful structure houses one of the tallest spires in Yorkshire which is approximately 75 m in height and is visible to people for miles around. 

The Wakefield cathedral houses the tallest spire in Yorkshire which stands at approximately 75 m high and is among the popular tourist places to visit in Wakefield. This beautiful structure is located on top of a Saxon church and includes a lot of original medieval designs belonging from Norman to perpendicular Gothic. The church also integrates Victorian style as it was reconstructed between 1858 and 1874 by Master restorers George Gilbert Scott and John Oldridge Scott. Visitors will find a 15th century wooden coffered ceiling that is decorated with ornately carved bosses.
