The Coventry Music Museum Overview

One of the melodic tourist attractions in Coventry has to be The Coventry Music Museum (CMM) that was the dream of Pete Chambers, a music historian and journalist in Coventry, and his wife, Julie. Pete and Julie are so dedicated to supporting local musicians in Coventry and Warwickshire that they are willing to donate four days of their week to do so for free. This museum may be little in size, but it certainly isn't in spirit.

The Coventry Music Museum, located on the outskirts of the multi-ethnic city of Coventry, is home to an outstanding collection of music artefacts that extends from the nineteenth century to the present day, from comedic entertainment to rock'n'roll, from early electronica to the Beat scene, from punk to new wave, from Bhangra to pop and indie, and everything in between. Including music from so many different styles that originated in Coventry is a great way to appeal to a wide range of music lovers and ensure the museum's continued success. Pete Chambers, a local historian and journalist, and his wife, Julie, established the Coventry Music Museum in 2013. The museum being one of the top tourist attractions in Coventry relies on grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generosity of donors and volunteers to stay open. As you walk the museum, this modest and close-knit ethos would be palpable, offering a tranquil and comfortable environment in which to scrutinize the crowded display cases with care and attention to detail.
