About Merchant's House

One of the most classic examples of a simpler home in medieval times, the Merchant’s House, located in close proximity to the centre of Southampton, is also a surviving treasure of its time. Built in the year 1290, this historic townhouse-cum-mansion has been fully restored to its former glory, thereby giving visitors a chance to see how it would have looked in the 14th century. It also consists of a small back garden, which adds to its beauty and elegance.
