Durham University Museum of Archaeology is one of the largest archaeology departments on the Globe and is also considered a national leader in archaeological research areas. Multiple exhibits in the museum include coins from Hadrian’s wall, fragments of St. Cuthbert’s coffin, a great auk, and an admission card to the funeral of Nelson.

Durham University Museum of Archaeology, which resides at the heart of the world’s heritage site, has collections that range from prehistoric to postmedieval. 

You can discover prehistoric and Roman archaeology in the exhibition. You can also explore the spectacular metal work dating back to the bronze age, the cremated remains of Durham’s city, and the roman treasures retrieved from a murky riverbed. 

The exhibition at the museum will explore Roman’s daily life like leisure activities, Gods, food preparations, military life, and Roman Samian pottery.
