Updated as of April 2026

Jaipur tour packages byThrillophilia start at INR 18,000 and cover all the heritage spots of Jaipur like Amer Fort, the old-city heritage circuit, royal architecture, bazaars, and the royal food that goes with it.

Thrillophilia has 60+ Jaipur tour packages and they cover all the main attractions. From a focused 2-night city break to multi-city Rajasthan circuits that include Jodhpur, Udaipur, or Jaisalmer.

Jaipur, also known as Pink City, has multiple attractions which is why some travellers take Jaipur as a 2 to 3 day standalone city break and some use it as part of a Golden Triangle route connecting Delhi and Agra, or as the entry point into a broader Rajasthan circuit.

Either way, your Jaipur trip depends on how many attractions are listed and how the city is paced across available days, how is the weather, and how transfers are handled between the fort belt and the old city.

Most Jaipur packages include hotel accommodation, transfers between the airport or station and the hotel, and a day-wise sightseeing plan that covers Amer Fort, the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and the old-city markets.

The price of a Jaipur tour package depends on how many nights are included, the hotel category, whether transfers are private or shared, and whether a licensed local guide is part of the plan.

Thrillophilia creates customised plans with the help of AI that helps you visit more places in less time and without too much hassle. As per our internal booking team data, travellers who opted for AI-built customised plans were able to travel more comfortably

How to Reach Jaipur

Jaipur is one of the easier Rajasthan cities to reach, which makes it a practical starting or ending point for most Rajasthan tour packages and a natural third leg for Golden Triangle routes.

By air

  • Jaipur International Airport has direct flights from major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad
  • Flight time from Delhi is under 1 hour
  • Airport is about 12 km from the city centre
  • Cab transfers to hotels take around 20 to 35 minutes

By rail

  • Jaipur Junction is a major railway hub
  • Well connected to Delhi (4.5 to 5 hours), Mumbai (17 to 20 hours), and other cities
  • Overnight trains from Delhi arrive early morning, making them a practical alternative to flights
  • Station is centrally located near most hotel areas

By road from Delhi

  • Connected via NH48 across ~280 km
  • Travel time is 4.5 to 5.5 hours depending on traffic
  • Early departures help avoid congestion
  • Common route for Delhi–Jaipur–Agra circuits in Golden Triangle itineraries

By road from Agra

  • Distance is ~235 km via NH21
  • Travel time is around 4 to 5 hours
  • A standard intercity leg in most Golden Triangle routes

Who This Trip Is Best For

Jaipur tour packages suit a range of travellers and has something to offer for everyone from budget to luxury tour packages, but the right format depends on what you are coming for. If your focus is Jaipur itself, keep the itinerary restricted to Jaipur and avoid adding too many long detours. If you’re doing a wider Rajasthan trip, still give Jaipur enough time to properly explore its forts and old-city core without rushing through it.

First-Time Rajasthan Travellers

If it’s your first time in Rajasthan, a 2 to 3 day Jaipur-focused route works best. The city has enough depth in its fort belt, palace circuit, and old-city bazaars to easily fill three full days. Starting with Jaipur gives you a strong architectural and cultural baseline before heading to places like Jodhpur, Udaipur, or Jaisalmer.

Golden Triangle Travellers

For those doing the classic Golden Triangle, Jaipur becomes the heritage-heavy and shopping-friendly leg of the Delhi-Agra-Jaipur circuit. Most travellers spend 2 nights here, covering Amer Fort and the old-city highlights. The bustling bazaars offer a refreshing contrast after the Mughal architecture of Agra and Delhi.

Couples

Jaipur works well for couples when the plan includes heritage stays, a sunset visit to Nahargarh Fort or Amer, and a relaxed food experience in the old city. The city naturally feels romantic and perfect for couples looking for Jaipur honeymoon packages, especially with its architecture and soft evening light, without needing anything overly curated.

Families

Families benefit from a city-core itinerary that keeps travel distances short. Cover key spots like Albert Hall Museum, Jantar Mantar, and Amer without overpacking the day. The old city is compact enough to explore in sections, making it easier for younger travellers.

Culture and Photography Travellers

If you’re here for culture or photography, Jaipur brings you amazing visual appeal. The pink-walled streets around Hawa Mahal, the symmetry of Jantar Mantar, and the layered paths and staircases of Amer offer plenty to work with.

Early mornings and late afternoons give you the best light, while bazaars like Johari and Bapu add local, street-level texture.

Best Places to Cover on a Jaipur Trip

Jaipur sightseeing and all the places to visit in Jaipur falls into three clear layers. The city-core heritage circuit, the fort and hillside belt, and a set of optional outskirts for those with extra time.

The key is not to treat Jaipur like a checklist. A well-planned route moves through these layers in a logical sequence, so the experience builds from culture to scale to landscape.

City-Core Heritage Circuit

This is where you understand Jaipur before you explore its forts. The old city holds the architectural, cultural, and commercial backbone of the destination.

City Palace

Located at the heart of the old city, the City Palace is not a single structure but a large complex of courtyards, museums, and royal residences. Parts of it are still occupied by Jaipur’s royal family, which adds a lived-in dimension to the experience. Plan at least 1.5 to 2 hours here. The textile museum and armory are worth your time and go beyond just the visual appeal of the courtyards.

Hawa Mahal

One of Rajasthan’s most iconic facades, Hawa Mahal was designed with 953 small windows to allow airflow and discreet viewing of street life by royal women. The best way to experience it is from the street opposite, especially in the early morning when the light hits the pink sandstone. Entering the structure gives you a different perspective overlooking the old city.

Jantar Mantar

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jantar Mantar is an 18th-century observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II is both scientific and architectural. The instruments are massive and functional, designed to measure time, track stars, and predict eclipses. With a guide, the visit becomes far more meaningful. Allocate 45 minutes to an hour.

Albert Hall Museum

Set inside Ram Niwas Garden, Albert Hall Museum is an Indo-Saracenic building houses collections of Rajput and Mughal art, textiles, metalwork, and even an Egyptian mummy. It works well as a slower, cultural stop that adds historical context before heading into Jaipur’s forts.

Old-City Bazaars

The markets here are not curated for tourists. They are working trade streets that have existed for over two centuries. Exploring these lanes adds a real, everyday layer to Jaipur beyond monuments.

  • Johari Bazaar is the main jewellery and gemstone market
  • Bapu Bazaar is known for textiles, leather goods, and handicrafts
  • Nehru Bazaar is ideal for lac bangles and traditional footwear

Fort and Hillside

Once you’ve covered the old city, the forts add scale and landscape to your itinerary. This is where Jaipur starts to feel expansive.

Amer Fort

One of the main highlight of most Jaipur trips is Amer Fort and deserves proper time. Located about 11 kilometres from the old city, it sits above Maota Lake and unfolds as a large, multi-level complex. Expect to spend 2 to 2.5 hours here. Key sections include Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam, Ganesh Pol, and the lake-facing ramparts. Arriving early in the morning helps avoid both crowds and heat. A licensed guide can significantly improve the experience.

Nahargarh Fort

Sitting on a ridge above the city, Nahargarh Fort offers one of the best panoramic views of Jaipur. It is smaller and easier to cover, taking around 1 to 1.5 hours. It works particularly well as a sunset stop and is often paired with Amer on the same day.

Jal Mahal

Located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake, Jal Mahal is more of a visual stop than a full visit. Entry inside the palace is restricted, but the lakeside view makes it a worthwhile 15 to 20 minute pause on the way to or from Amer. It breaks up the fort-heavy day nicely.

Food Experiences and Local Dining

Jaipur's food culture is one of the more accessible parts of the city for first-time visitors. Dal baati churma, the most well-known Rajasthani dish, is widely available in the old city and around the tourist circuit. You can try the best Dal baati Churma at Chokhi Dhani and an age- old sweet shop, Rawat Mishthan Bhandar.

Pyaaz kachori is the standard morning street food and is best at the older shops in and around the old city like Badi Chaupar or Choti Chaupar and around hawa mahal

Laal maas, a slow-cooked mutton preparation with dried red chillies, appears on most mid-range restaurant menus and is worth ordering in restaurants like Shikaar Bagh, Spice Court, and Talk of the Town, MI Road.

Jaipur also has a strong lassi culture. Several multi-generation shops in the old-city lanes have been serving the same preparation for decades.

Optional Outskirts and Add-Ons

These are not essential for a short Jaipur trip, but they add variety if you have extra time.

Galtaji Temple

Built into a narrow mountain pass, Galtaji is a temple complex known for its natural springs and step-like water tanks. The surrounding hills are home to a large population of monkeys, which gives the place its nickname, the Monkey Temple. It works well as a half-morning excursion for those interested in temple architecture and quieter, nature-led settings.

Chand Baori

Located in the village of Abhaneri, about 95 kilometres from Jaipur, Chand Baori is one of India’s most striking stepwells. Its precise geometric design makes it a favourite for photography and architecture enthusiasts. This is best suited for travellers with a longer itinerary. If you only have 2 to 3 days in Jaipur, it’s better to stay focused on the city itself.

As per Thrillophilia’s destination experts, prioritise the city-core and Amer Fort if your trip duration is short. That alone gives you a complete Jaipur experience. If you have more time, you can cover Nahargarh and one of the outskirts.

To Know More: Jaipur Group Packages

Jaipur as Part of Golden Triangle or Rajasthan Extension

Jaipur is the third leg of the Golden Triangle route after Delhi and Agra. In a standard 5-night or 6-night Golden Triangle trip, Jaipur gets 2 nights, which is enough to cover Amer Fort and the old-city circuit but leaves little room for add-ons.

Jaipur tour packages that form part of a broader Rajasthan itinerary including Jodhpur, Udaipur, or Jaisalmer typically run from 7 nights to 10 nights.

In multi-city Rajasthan tour circuits, it is important that Jaipur is not compressed below 2 full sightseeing days. The city has too much architectural and cultural content to be used as a one-stop transit point.

Things to Do in Jaipur

Beyond monuments, Jaipur is best experienced through by knowing the right things to do in Jaipur on your trip. Go for activities that locals do in everyday life, check the traditional crafts, and explore food culture. These activities add depth to the trip without repeating standard sightseeing.

Food and Local Dining

  • Try a traditional Rajasthani thali with dishes like dal baati churma and gatte ki sabzi
  • Explore street food in the old city, especially kachoris, samosas, and lassi
  • Join a curated food walk to understand Jaipur’s culinary history and local favourite

Shopping and Craft Exploration

  • Shop for block-printed textiles, blue pottery, and handcrafted jewellery
  • Visit local workshops to see artisans at work, especially in textile printing and gemstone setting
  • Focus on quality over quantity and take time to compare before buying

Cultural Experiences

  • Attend a folk music or dance performance in the evening
  • Opt for a heritage dining experience in a restored haveli
  • Explore local temples or community spaces to observe daily life beyond tourist zones

Photography and Walks

  • Take early morning walks through the old city for softer light and fewer crowds
  • Capture everyday street life, colours, and architecture rather than just landmarks
  • Walk through residential lanes to see a quieter side of Jaipur

Slow Travel Experiences

  • Spend time at a café or courtyard space to take a break from structured sightseeing
  • Try a cooking session with a local family to learn regional recipes
  • Keep at least one half-day unplanned to explore at your own pace

Best Time to Visit Jaipur

October to March

This is the most reliable and comfortable time to explore Jaipur. The weather supports full-day sightseeing, making it ideal for fort visits, city walks, and market exploration without fatigue.

  • Day temperatures range between 8°C and 25°C from October to February
  • December and January are the coldest, with nights dropping to 5°C to 8°C
  • Early mornings, especially at Amer Fort, can feel chilly before sunrise
  • February to March sees a gradual rise in temperature, still manageable for sightseeing
  • Peak tourist season with higher hotel prices and demand
  • Travel spikes during Diwali, New Year, and long weekends
  • Jaipur Literature Festival in January increases hotel occupancy significantly

April to June

This is Jaipur’s peak summer period, where heat becomes the defining factor of your itinerary. Travel is still possible, but only with a reworked schedule that avoids midday exposure.

Temperatures often reach 42°C to 45°C in May and June

  • Amer Fort becomes uncomfortable after 10 AM due to direct sun exposure
  • Open sites like City Palace and Jantar Mantar require early visits
  • Ideal sightseeing window is between 7 AM and 10 AM
  • Afternoons should be reserved for rest indoors
  • Evenings can be used for markets or lighter activities
  • Lower hotel prices and fewer crowds
  • Standard winter itineraries need adjustment to work in summer

July to September

The monsoon brings a noticeable shift in Jaipur’s landscape, softening the heat and adding greenery to the otherwise dry surroundings. It’s a value-friendly season but comes with some unpredictability.

  • Moderate rainfall enhances views around Amer Fort and Nahargarh Fort
  • Areas near Jal Mahal and Man Sagar Lake look more scenic
  • Temperatures are lower compared to peak summer
  • Hotel pricing is at its lowest, offering good value
  • Rain can interrupt sightseeing at open locations like Amer, Nahargarh, and Jantar Mantar
  • Temporary waterlogging may occur in parts of the old city
  • Suitable for travellers who can adjust plans around rain.

Thrillophilia Traveller’s note

Tanvi Azmi from Patna, booked the Golden Triangle Tour | Delhi Agra Jaipur in March 2026. She says, “Our trip from Patna to the Thar Desert was an eye-opener; the endless dunes are so different from our landscape. Camping under the stars with traditional music was the highlight of our entire journey. Thrillophilia and our guide, Deepak, made sure we felt safe and comfortable throughout.”

Common Planning Mistakes Travellers Make

Jaipur has a lot to offer if you do the planning right! As per Thrillophilia's destination experts, here’s what travellers do and what should be done instead:

  1. Overpacking the Itinerary: Trying to combine Jaipur, Chand Baori, Ranthambore National Park, and a Golden Triangle in 3 nights leads to a rushed trip. Jaipur itself needs at least 2 full days before adding extras.
  2. Ignoring Seasonal Timing: Visiting Amer Fort in peak summer afternoons versus early winter mornings is a completely different experience. Good itineraries adjust timing based on the month.
  3. Too Many Forts: Covering Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, and Jaigarh Fort in one day often leads to fatigue. Spacing them out improves the overall experience.
  4. Falling for Discount-First Packages: Packages that highlight large discounts may cut corners on hotels, transfers, or guides. Always check inclusions and exclusions instead of relying on pricing alone.
  5. Mixing Up Trip Types: Planning Jaipur as a standalone trip is very different from including it in a longer Rajasthan circuit. Each requires a different pace, structure, and time allocation.

Travel Updates and Safety Information for Jaipur

Jaipur is a stable and widely visited city with well-established tourist infrastructure. The following are the most relevant practical notes for travellers planning visits in 2025 and 2026.

  • Amer Fort operates a timed-entry ticketing system during peak season months from October to February. Slots book out on busy weekends. Pre-booking is advisable.
  • The Jaipur Literature Festival typically takes place in late January. Hotel pricing in the city increases during this period and availability at popular properties can be limited. Travellers who are not attending the festival should be aware that the city is busier than a standard January weekend.
  • Hawa Mahal and the Johari Bazaar street front are active roads with significant traffic. Pedestrian movement is easier in the early morning before market activity picks up.
  • Jaipur is generally considered a low-risk city for domestic and international tourists. The old-city areas can be crowded, and standard awareness around pickpocketing applies in market lanes and around major attractions during peak season.
  • Road conditions on the route to Abhaneri and some other day-trip destinations can be variable. A private cab is the most practical option for outbound travel.

Good Rajasthan experience we covered Jaipur and Udaipur in 5 days. City Palace in Udaipur was stunning and the lakeside dinner was a lovely touch. Hotel in Jaipur was excellent. The Udaipur hotel was a bit further from the city centre than we expected but transport was provided. Overall a well-managed trip.

Rajasthan combined with the Golden Triangle is simply the most complete Indian heritage experience you can have. Jaisalmer's desert camp under the stars and Udaipur's lake palaces were both genuinely unforgettable. Food throughout the tour was very authentic some of the best dal baati I've ever had.

I recently visited Rajasthan with Thrillophilia and it was an amazing experience. The tour provided by the team was great and I must say everything was top notch. Udaipur lakes, Jodhpur Blue City and Jaipur forts all covered without any rush. Our local guide was knowledgeable and took us to a few spots that were not even on the itinerary. Pricing was reasonable and the arrangements were excellent.

The Golden Triangle combined with Rajasthan gives you the most concentrated showcase of India's historical grandeur. Our guide in Jaipur was exceptional, weaving personal stories and local folklore into every site visit. India has never felt more extraordinary than on this route.

Visited Rajasthan with my parents from Kochi as they had always wanted to see the golden state of India. Udaipur's Lake Pichola boat ride at sunset was everything they had imagined. Jaisalmer desert camp overnight was a first for all three of us. Thrillophilia's guide at each city was very informative about local history.

Jaipur Tour faqs

Is it safe to travel to Jaipur?

Jaipur is considered a safe destination for domestic and international tourists. The city has well-established tourist infrastructure, regular police presence in major tourist areas, and no significant safety concerns for standard travel. Standard market awareness applies in crowded bazaar areas during peak season.

Which are the famous shopping places in Jaipur?

1. Johri Bazaar: Undoubtedly one of the best places for shopping in Jaipur, you can find almost anything when you are here. You can buy gold and silver, along with handicraft items, block printed textiles, Rajasthani sarees and much more.

2. Bapu Bazaar:
A trip to Bapu Bazaar as part of your Jaipur tour packages is a must. It is the embroidery hub of Jaipur, where you can watch craftsmen working on the textiles with their own hands. It is also a place where you can buy colourful Lac bangles and lac jewellery.

3. Badi Chaupar:
Located close to the Hawa Mahal is this shopping paradise, where you can find everything that Jaipur is famous for. If you are short for time, you can head over here to pick up whatever you want, including jewellery, bedsheets, embroidered textiles, sarees, lehengas, dupattas, and much more.

4. Nehru Bazaar:
Jaipur is known for its colourful mojris and juttis, which you can find in Nehru Bazaar. This is another fascinating stop on your Jaipur trip packages, where you can choose from thousands and thousands of colourful mojris to take back home with you.

What is the best time to book a Jaipur tour package?

October to March is the strongest travel window. December to February is the most popular and the most booked period, particularly around the Jaipur Literature Festival in January. Booking 4 to 6 weeks in advance for travel in this window is advisable. Summer travel in April to June requires packages that adjust sightseeing timing around the heat.

What does a standard Jaipur tour package include?

A standard Jaipur tour package includes hotel accommodation, airport or station transfers, day-wise local cab transfers, and a sightseeing itinerary covering the main attractions. Monument entry fees and a licensed guide are usually separate unless the package specifically includes them. Confirm the meal plan, hotel name, and transfer mode before booking.

Should I book a Jaipur holiday package with a local guide?

A local guide adds measurable value at Amer Fort and City Palace, both of which contain architectural and historical detail that is difficult to appreciate without context. At Jantar Mantar, a guide who explains the astronomical instruments converts a visually unusual space into a genuinely informative stop. Guide fees run Rs 800 to Rs 1,500 per day and are worth including for any traveller for whom heritage architecture is a primary reason for the trip.

Which areas should I stay in during a Jaipur trip?

The old-city area near Hawa Mahal suits travellers who want to walk to the market circuit and heritage core. The Amer road area suits travellers who prioritise fort access and quieter surroundings. The Civil Lines and MI Road zone is practical for Golden Triangle travellers who need easy station or highway access. Hotel category and location together determine how much of Jaipur you can access on foot versus cab.

Should I visit Nahargarh Fort on my Jaipur tour? What is it famous for?

A visit to Jaipur is incomplete without a visit to the historically famous Nahargarh Fort. The fort was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The fort was built as a royal retreat and was not meant to be used for the purpose of war.the fort is famous for many reasons but the 2 most striking features are:

1. The fort is built on tip of the Aravalli Hills and offers a captivating view of the valley and the city of Jaipur.

2. Built inside the fort is the Sheesh Mahal, a complex whose walls and ceiling are covered completely with glass. This Mahal or Palace is a true visual delight and speaks to the architectural capabilities of the Maharajas of Jaipur.

What are the best Jaipur tour packages for couples?

Couple-focused Jaipur tour packages work best when they include a heritage or boutique hotel with strong architecture or courtyard character, a late-afternoon visit to Nahargarh for the sunset view over the city, a food experience or old-city food walk, and unhurried time at Amer Fort. The city does not need to be overscheduled to work well for couples. Two full days and two nights at the right hotel, with practical sequencing, is more useful than a 4-day package that adds unnecessary stops.

What is Jaipur famous for?

Jaipur is primarily known for its Rajput fort and palace architecture, particularly Amer Fort, City Palace, and the distinctive pink-washed facades of the old walled city. It is also known as a major craft and jewellery trading city, with Johari Bazaar being one of the largest gem and jewellery markets in India. Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is one of the few planned cities of its era in the subcontinent.

Can I do a Jaipur trip in 1 night or as a day trip from Delhi?

A day trip from Delhi to Jaipur and back is not a practical format for seeing the city. The travel time alone (4.5 to 5 hours each way by road, around 4.5 hours by train) eats into sightseeing time significantly.

A 1-night trip gives one full day in the city, which is enough to see Amer Fort and the city-core circuit if transfers are efficient, but it is a compressed format. Two nights and two full days is the minimum that gives a real experience of Jaipur.

What is the cost of a Jaipur trip package for 2 people?

A budget 2-night package for 2 people costs approximately Rs 8,000 to Rs 13,000 in total. A mid-range 3-night package for 2 people runs between Rs 18,000 and Rs 32,000 depending on hotel category and whether a guide is included. A premium or luxury Jaipur trip for 2 people at a heritage palace hotel starts from Rs 50,000 and above for 3 nights.

Which is the best place for a hot air balloon tour in Jaipur?

The best place for hot air balloon rides in Jaipur would be the Amber Fort. You get the chance to see the breath-taking aerial views of Amber Fort as well as traditional Indian villages that surround the fort.
