About Westgate Towers Museum & Viewpoint

The Westgate, Canterbury's most significant and possibly most acceptable remaining mediaeval entrance, was constructed during the Hundred Year's War to protect Canterbury from invasion. Additionally, it represented the importance and wealth of this city and the Archbishop, whose palace was located here.

Of course, it also consists of a scenic view, i.e., The Westgate's battlements, which are over 60 feet high, provide breathtaking panoramic views of the ancient city, its former mediaeval core, and the nearby gardens and parks adjacent to Stour of River. Lastly, there is a suggestion to visit the nearby Westgate Gard, one of the country's oldest parks with ages 200 ye, and Tower House, which and the city's mayor's offices.
