Australia Packages
Reviewed by Thrillophilia Australia Operations Team
Updated as of April 2026
Australia tour packages by Thrillophilia range from INR 48,000 to INR 250,000+ per person for a duration of 4 to 10 days, respectively. They cover popular routes like Sydney, Melbourne, and Queensland. Few international trips match the experience of seeing the Sydney Opera House, driving along the Great Ocean Road, or exploring the Great Barrier Reef in one journey.
What many first-time travellers do not realise is that Australia is huge. Distances between cities are long, and planning the right route matters more than trying to cover everything. Because of this, itineraries are less about ticking off too many places and more about choosing the right combination, like Sydney + Melbourne or Sydney + Queensland.
From our experience of handling 5,500+ Australia trips, we have seen that travellers enjoy the destination more when the plan is not rushed. Most bookings are centred around Sydney and Melbourne with 8–10 day durations. Itineraries with proper pacing, fewer hotel changes, and well-planned internal flights feel much smoother and less tiring. That’s why our Australia tours are designed with balanced travel days and enough time in each place, thus, being rated 4.7/5 by travellers from 70+ countries.
In our Australia tour packages, you can find stays in well-rated hotels, guided city tours, and optional experiences like reef tours, coastal drives, and wildlife visits. We also take care of visa guidance, transfers, and on-ground support so you don’t have to worry about logistics. The idea at our end is simple: you focus on enjoying the trip, while we handle everything else.

Australia Trip Cost from India: Realistic Budget Breakdown

The range is based on typical route patterns like Sydney and Melbourne or adding Queensland regions. It reflects how pricing changes with distance and internal flights.

Kabir Oberoi booked our Best of Australia and New Zealand package and gave his post-trip feedback, saying, “Leaving the quiet lakes of Bhopal for the massive scale of Milford Sound was an experience of a lifetime. The way the waterfalls cascade down those steep cliffs in Fiordland is just majestic. Best Time to Visit Australia
As per the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), climate patterns vary widely across the country, with tropical conditions in the north and temperate climates in the south.
Peak Season: December–February
The summer temperature ranges from 15°C to 30°C. This is the busiest time, owing to Christmas and New Year, so you may encounter high hotel prices. Places like Bondi Beach in Sydney and Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast are crowded.
This is a good time to visit southern cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide, where you can enjoy warm, dry days. Attend New Year celebrations at Sydney Harbour, watch the Australian Open in Melbourne, or visit the Great Ocean Road. However, avoid regions such as Cairns, Darwin, and Kakadu National Park, as heavy rain and humidity can close outdoor areas.
Our Tip: Book flights and stay early if you plan to visit Sydney or the Gold Coast during the New Year.
Skip this Season If: You want lower prices or want to avoid crowds and heat.
Shoulder Season: March–May, September–November
The weather is comfortable with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 23°C, making this the best time to visit Australia from India.
From March to May, you can visit places like Melbourne, Adelaide, and the Barossa Valley for food and wine events, or explore the Outback near Uluru. Go whale watching in Hervey Bay, visit Kangaroo Island for wildlife, or see flowers in Canberra and Margaret River from September to November. The Great Barrier Reef near Cairns also offers favourable conditions during this time.
What We Suggest: Plan routes that cover Sydney, the Gold Coast, and Cairns during these months for better weather and fewer crowds.
Skip this season if you want snow activities.
With Thrillophilia you will always receive prompt updates on weather and best time to visit before as well as during the trip. See, what our travellers have to say about this:
Thrillophilia Traveller’s Note:
Shikhar Dhawan travelled from Cochin and booked our Australian Delights | Secrets of the Southern Land package. He said, “Coming from Cochin, the vastness of the Daintree Rainforest felt familiar yet exotic with its unique wildlife and ancient trees. The boat ride along the coast allowed us to spot some massive crocodiles in the wild. Manoj at Thrillophilia kept us updated on all the weather conditions for our tours.”
Verified Thrillophilia booking, March 2026 departure
Low Season: June–August
This is winter in Australia, when temperatures vary between 12°C and 26°C. With cooler weather in cities like Melbourne and Canberra, the conditions are better in the north.
This is the best time to visit Cairns, Port Douglas, and the Great Barrier Reef, as the weather is dry with clear skies. You can also explore Darwin, Kakadu National Park, and Litchfield National Park. For snow, head to Perisher and Thredbo in the Snowy Mountains or Mount Buller in Victoria.
Pro Tip: Carry warm clothes for places like Melbourne and Canberra, especially at night.
Skip this Season If: You want warm beach weather across all regions.

When Should You Apply:
Apply at least 4 to 6 weeks before your trip. Processing can take 20 to 30 days, depending on your application and embassy workload. Try to apply early, as delays are common during peak travel periods.

Best Places to Cover on an Australia Tour
Sydney
If it is your first trip to Australia, Sydney is a good place to start, as it is one of the oldest and most iconic cities. You can visit the snail-shaped Sydney Opera House or walk across the Harbour Bridge to catch views of the skyline. Take the coastal walk to Coogee or relax and surf at Bondi Beach. If you are left with a free day, set out to explore the Blue Mountains to see the waterfalls, cliffs, and eucalyptus forests.
Don’t Miss: Sunset harbour cruise and a coastal walk early in the morning.
Melbourne + Great Ocean Road
If European-style vibe, street art, and coffee culture are things you gravitate towards, Melbourne is where you should be. You can walk through the hidden laneways of Hosier Lane to witness the colourful graffiti. Take an overnight or full-day trip along the Great Ocean Road to see the ocean cliffs and rock formations like the Twelve Apostles. You can end the trip with a visit to the Yarra Valley for views of the vineyard and wine tasting.
Don’t Miss: Sunset or Sunrise at Twelve Apostles
Queensland (Gold Coast + Reef)
Tropical landscape and warm weather make Queensland one of the best destinations to explore on an Australia tour from India. What you can do is base yourself on the Gold Coast to enjoy the long sandy beaches. Hit Surfers Paradise to explore the beachfront markets, enjoy nightlife, and try surfing. You can take your kids to Warner Bros. Movie World or SeaWorld Theme Parks for endless fun. For a unique experience, you can fly north to Port Douglas to see the largest coral reef system in the world at the Great Barrier Reef. After a diving and snorkelling session at the Reef, visit the Daintree Rainforest to see one of Earth’s oldest rainforests.
Don't Miss: Full day-reef tour with glass-bottom boat rides or snorkelling.
Tasmania
Tasmania is a great spot to cover with Australia tour packages, as it is less crowded and cooler. Half of the island is protected as reserves and national parks. You can explore the Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park to admire its lakes and walking trails. Visit the crescent-shaped shoreline of Wineglass Bay or stop at the forever prisoner settlement of Port Arthur Historic Site. If you are a wildlife enthusiast, you must meet the famous Tasmanian Devil.
Don't Miss: Full day-reef tour with glass-bottom boat rides or snorkelling.
Perth/Western Australia
Perth is located on the west coast and is also isolated from other Australian cities. So, you can add it to your India-to-Australia trip package if you have extra time for nature-based experiences in Kings Park. You can visit the UNESCO-listed Fremantle Prison to listen to stories of convicts from the past. Watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean by visiting Cottlesloe Beach. You can take a trip to the Nambung National Desert to see the world-famous Pinnacles Desert or admire the vast dunes at Lancelin Lookout. Also, take a ferry along the Swan River to meet the happiest animals in the world, called quokkas, at Rottnest Island.
Don’t Miss: Sunset at Pinnacles Desert, Evening Walk at Fremantle, Day trip to Rottnest Island.
Canberra and Adelaide
The best Australia tours are incomplete without visits to Canberra and Adelaide to see their galleries and museums. You can visit the Australian War Memorial and Parliament House to learn about the country’s history. Head to the much smaller Adelaide to see one of Australia’s best wine regions, called the Barossa Valley. You can also visit Kangaroo Island to come face to face with kangaroos and sea lions in their natural habitats.
Don’t Miss: Barossa Valley wine tasting.
Top Experiences to Include in Australia Tours
Explore the Great Barrier Reef
Your Australia trip package from India must include the Great Barrier Reef, which has around 900 islands and 3,000 individual reefs. The reef spans over 2,300 kilometres, and according to UNESCO-backed studies, it is the largest coral reef system in the world, made up of thousands of individual reefs and islands. You can dive, snorkel, or ride an underwater scooter at Gordon’s Bay here to spot not just colourful fish but about 400 types of corals. If time permits, visit the Museum of Underwater Art to see artworks such as the Coral Greenhouse and the 4-metre illuminated sculpture of an indigenous girl from the Wulgurukaba tribe, called Ocean Siren.
Don’t Miss: A full-day reef tour with snorkelling
Drive along the Great Ocean Road
If you are coming from Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road is a 2-day coastal drive covered in your Australia tour packages. However, keep in mind that there are rockfalls from the cliffs that tower over the road, and there may be teams removing and netting loose rocks to minimise risks. You can see the limestone pillars that reach a height of about 50 metres. See the Twelve Apostles, rock formations of the Arch, Grotto and London Bridge.
Surf at Byron Bay
Byron Bay is one of the best places to learn surfing, and you can include it in your Australia tour packages. This place is also known as a “swell magnet” and offers high-quality right-hand point breaks suitable for all skill levels. Beyond the Pass, there are beach breaks like the mellow waves of Tallow Beach and Wategos and the hollow waves at the Wreck. The ocean temperature is comfortable here, which lets you spot light boardshorts and wetsuits.
Price: INR 4,300 to INR 6,000 approx for single group lessons, INR 12,800 for private lessons
Do a Harbour Bridge Climb
As part of your Australia trip itinerary, you can attempt climbing the Harbour Bridge in Sydney to enjoy 360-degree views from about 14 metres above the water. This is a safe, bucket-list adventure that lets you appreciate views of the Blue Mountains to the west and the Sydney skyline. Also, you do not have to worry about safety as experts guide the entire activity. So, you can either do the Burrawa Aboriginal-led Climb or the faster Sampler Climb.
Price: INR 23,000 to INR 25,800 approx. per person
Enjoy a wine tasting in the Yarra or Barossa Valley
Located east of Melbourne, the Yarra Valley is known for attractions such as Healesville Sanctuary and more than 90 cellar doors. So, if you have always wanted to sip on cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, you should come here. However, to see the iconic wineries of Seppeltsfield and Penfolds, you can head to Adelaide’s Barossa Valley. This valley will surprise you with the warm-climate traditional Cabernet, Grenache, and Shiraz wines.
Price: INR 5,300 to INR 20,000 approx. per person for full-day guided tours

Common Planning Mistakes Indian Travellers Make
Attempts to cover everything in one trip
Most travellers try to cover Perth, Tasmania, Cairns, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Sydney. It can sound exciting, but honestly, it is a lot tiring and rushed. Australia is a huge continent, and you cannot do it like a checklist destination.
Thinking Australia has one weather zone
The most common mistake people make is thinking that Australia has one kind of weather. In reality, the weather here depends on where you are going. Melbourne is cool, while Queensland and the Gold Coast stay warmer. So, planning and packing based on “Australia” as a whole does not work.
Underestimating fatigue and travel time
Flights between cities are not short. Also, when you add jet lag, airport time, and hotel check-ins, it can get exhausting. What appears easy on a map can take your entire day. This affects how much you can include in an Australia tour from India.
Assuming everything is inclusive as the default
Many of you think visas and flights are part of every package, but that is not always true. For Australia, you must always check what is included and what is not before booking.
Not realising how the route affects the budget.
Your route determines your cost more than anything. For example, adding places like Tasmania and the Great Barrier Reef will increase your cost. If you add multiple flights, the budget will increase. The overall cost can also rise depending on your hotel choices in cities like Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne.
Food and Practical Tips for Indian Travellers in Australia
Do Not Worry about the availability of Indian food.
Cities like Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney have good options for home food. So, you do not have to worry about finding grocery stores and restaurants if you miss Indian cuisine.
Vegetarian Food is available, but check the menus
Most restaurants and cafes offer vegan and vegetarian dishes, so you won't have any restrictions. Just check if items like sauces and soups use meat stock.
Plan Your Meals When in Smaller Towns
Once you move away from cities, on day trips or coastal drives, food choices narrow. So, carry ready-to-eat items or at least know about the next stop.
Plan Properly for Domestic Travel:
Airport time and flights between cities can take 2 to 4 hours. So, on days when you are travelling, plan meals rather than assuming you will figure it out later.
Carry Cards as they are Widely Accepted:
From small cafes to major hotels, almost everything runs on cards. So, do carry your cards for payments, but you can also carry some cash just in case.
Pack Based on the Route
Melbourne's weather can change within a day, while Brisbane stays warmer. So, you can pack layers rather than just carry light and heavy clothes.
Travel Updates and Safety Information for Australia
As of 2026, Australia is one of the safest countries to travel to. It has been ranked the top for strong healthcare, public infrastructure, stable systems and safety.
Passport Rules are strictly checked
Passport validity is a major concern for airlines these days. So make sure your passport has at least 6 months' validity from your return date when booking Australia tour packages from India.
Stricter and faster border checks
Airports in Melbourne and Sydney now use biometric systems like e-gates and facial recognition. Entry is faster, but checks are stricter and more accurate.
Tighter visa monitoring
Not following visa conditions or overstaying can lead to strict action, so stick to the approved travel plan.
Anzac Day (April 25, 2026)
Anzac Day is a major event across the Australian continent. So, plan properly, as cities may have higher security, large gatherings and road closures.
