Kedarkantha Trek, Hampta Pass Trek, Chadar Trek, Valley of Flowers Trek, Nag Tibba Trek, Sainj Valley Trek, Deoban Trek, Sandakphu Phalut Trek, Har Ki Doon Trek, Goecha La Trek and many more.

All over India, there are magnificent landscapes and whether you are a seasoned explorer or a new adventurer, you will always find places suitable for trekking in India. India is home to the highest mountain range in the world, the Himalayas, but this is not all. There are several trekking trails through hills, valleys, and tropical rainforests. With varying difficulty levels and terrains, these treks are sure to provide you with the much-needed thrill.

Treks in India are a great way to enjoy the natural splendour of the country and experience the real thrill of mountains. There are four main areas for trekking in this country, out of which three are located around the Himalayas. These are Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. Some of the most magnificent treks here are the Chadar trek, Roopkund Trek, Stok Kangri Summit, etc.

Not all the places for trekking in India are in the north, however, and the southern state of Kerala presents several trekking opportunities as well. Chembra Trek, Kudremukh trek as well as Kodachadri offer the best trekking experience. If you are up for some excitement during your vacation, nothing can beat trekking through lush greenery to catch the breathtaking views of the mountain.

Here are some of the best treks in India:

1. Kedarkantha Trek:

Situated in the Garhwal Himalayas, Kedarkantha trekking is one of the best things to do in Uttarakhand. It is an amazing experience for those who enjoy spending time in nature. One of the often visited locations, the area’s natural beauty is complemented with quaint hamlets, unending lush green meadows, and some terrific sights of the towering Himalayan peaks.

The snaking trail to the 3,850m tall summit goes through Govind National Park, which offers an exclusive glance of the Himalayan flora and fauna. With views of peaks like the Swargarohini, Banderpooch, Black, and Ranglana, the highlight of the trail is undoubtedly sunsets against the backdrop of impressive snow-capped mountains.

2. Hampta Pass Trek:

One of the easiest and yet amazing treks, Hampta Pass Trek can be a great beginning of your trekking journey. Situated in the south of Manali, Hampta Pass is a beautiful amalgamation of snow-capped mountains, lush meadows, fresh streams, and more.

3. Chadar Trek:

The Chadar trek (also known as Zanskar Trek), is a most remarkable experience in the Himalayan ranges. This trek is over the frozen River Zanskar that becomes a thick sheet of ice during the winters. Make your way over this sheet of ice and manoeuvre narrow ridges.

This region records the lowest temperatures, which makes it one of the most exciting high altitude treks in the world. The activity starts at Chilling and continues till Lingshed, from where you will have to walk on the frozen River Zanskar or Chadar. Another important attraction of the region is the Buddhist heritage and religious richness.

4. Valley of Flowers Trek:

Gateway to various beautiful hill stations like Auli, Joshimath offers you an amazing trek to the Valley of Flowers which is laden with numerous exotic species of small flowers.

5. Nag Tibba Trek:

Nag Tibba trek route is a circular trek where the finish point is different from the start point and at no time there is an overlap of the trail, it is one of the best things to do in Dehradun. On your way down you will go through a completely contrasting landscape having a dense mixed forest of Oak, Rhododendron, Cider and Alpine.

Adding to the beauty of the trek is the opportunity to visit a couple of quaint villages which are extremely scenically situated amidst thick Deodar forests. Icing on the top would surely be the opportunity to dunk one's feet into a cold and inviting stream at the end of the trek and this is one of the best trekking trips in India.

6. Sainj Valley Trek:

The Great Himalayan National Park is one of the best trekking tours in India. During the winter, the trail is filled with snow, with temperatures falling as low as -6 degrees.

7. Deoban Trek:

This 15 Km long trek starts from the base camp of Chakrata. Post-December, the trail is full of snow and becomes a bit difficult. It has unending green meadows and a section of forest with a thick canopy.

8. Sandakphu Phalut Trek:

The Sandakphu trek will take you through the charming environs of Darjeeling. It offers one of the most exciting trails for trekking in India. Not only do you get to enjoy the natural beauty of the place, but also get to put your trekking and climbing skills to test. Trekking at Saandakphu is among the list of things you cannot miss in Darjeeling.

There are two routes that you can undertake while on the activity. Both the routes start at Maneybhanj. The first route will take you to Sandakphu via Tonglu, while the other one will take you to places such as Tonglu, Sandakphu, and Phalut. This journey can be completed in two days time and is perfect for those who are looking for a quick trekking experience.

9. Har Ki Doon Trek:

Nestled away in the heart of a cradle shaped valley, the trek to Har Ki Doon valley is known to be one of the most stunning and picturesque treks and makes trekking in Uttarakhand a delightful experience. Embraced with scenic alpine meadows and striking greeneries, the beauty and splendour of this portion of the Garhwal Himalayas are credited by snow clad peaks, panoramic views of the Himalayan Range, gurgling rivulets and much more.

Locally known as the 'Valley of Gods', trekking through this eternal meadow is one of the best experiences and is rewarded with mesmerising views of the glaciers, mountain ridges, ancient temples, appealing caves and high altitude villages. According to the legends, Har Ki Doon valley shares its history with the age of the Mahabharata and holds an important place in the Hindu mythology.

10. Goecha La Trek:

The trekking experience in Sikkim is unlike any other part of the Indian Himalayas. The landscape, people and the surroundings are quite different from any part of the country, which makes Goecha la trek a unique experience. You will walk through rhododendron forests, beautiful meadows and will come across lovely streams of water during this trek. Trekking here is once in a lifetime experience to have in Sikkim.

The journey begins at Yuksom, which is situated at an elevation of 5,600 feet and will take you through places such as Sachen, Tshoka, Dzongri and Thansing before reaching the icy trail of Goechala. The entire trip makes for a wonderful experience, this is definitely one of the best trekking places in India for you.

Umesh Joshi Stok Kangri Trek
Excellent
First, I would like to say thank you to shyam@thrillophilia.com for their coordination and cooperation by writing my thrillophilia reviews. The trip was well planned and executed extremely well by the tour operators, I am very happy with the services provided by thrillophilia during this trek. 1) Our trek leaders Salman and Stenzin are really a wonderful Guys, they were very helpful and supportive all the time during trekking.Other staff members were also supportive and helpful. 2) Food quality and quantity was good. 3) Accommodation was good, camps were in good shape, neat and clean and quite spacious. Let's review the Trek about which I had read a lot at thrillophilia reviews. No doubt Stok trek was awesome as well as difficult. It would not be correct if I will say Stok trek is the most beautiful trek ???? but there is something which makes this trek different from all other treks and which is the main reason to attract tourist from every corner of the word, that is its height. At 20,500 feet Stok Kangri is the highest trekkable summit in India (6,153 m), what google says but when I googled it bit more and try to find if there is any other trek exist in this word which is above Stok, I did not get any information so I assume this is the highest trekkable summit in world ???? Highlights of this Trek 1) Trekking till base camp is not very tiring, which itself a big achievement as you would be able to achieve the height of 16300 feet ???? and the best part what I found in this trek is “you don’t need to walk too many hours to reach base camp” 2-4 hours walk a day is max you will walk. 2) Leh treks are totally different from Himachal and Uttrakhand treks in terms of scenic beauty, it’s a different experience, you would be able to see some splendid views of the Stok mountain ranges. 3) The last day “Summit day” will give you a totally different experience. You start your trek at night time which generally don’t happen in other treks. Moreover, you will get a chance to do snow trekking in summers as well “Only in summit Day”. Here is a great saying "the best view comes after the hardest climb" Very True!!! Preparation: I should say this is not a trek for first time trekkers but still if someone wants to give a try, Start your preparation at least 2 months before this trek as last day “Summit Day” is really a challenging one, compare to other days where you have to just walk 2-4 hours max here on final day you have to walk for a 12 – 14 hours and Trekking at night on Snow is bit tricky task and it becomes more challenging when you have to walk by putting Crampons on your shoes as rightly suggested by many people at thrillophilia reviews. a) Aim for 5 km running in 30 minutes b) Do breathing exercise which helps you a lot during this trek especially. c) Drink as much as water you can.

This was my maiden trek and I am glad I chose Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Saheb. I carried home tonnes of great memories from the trip that I will cherish for my life. Serene Nature, Splendid weather, a great company of cousins, new friends we made and the team who lead the trek made a perfect mixture to cherish. While the chirpy young kept the team charged, the conviction of the others was inspirational to the rest. I am also glad that Thrillophillia conducts this trip which I came to know after reading thrillophilia reviews. The field team lead by Yogi and Sandeep was awesome. At some point or other everyone in the group were amazed with their knowledge, patience, perseverance, untiring efforts to make the trip a memorable and comfortable one for the entire team. Their daily briefing was quite interesting. Valley of flowers amazed us with the nuances it offered every minute. The continuous rain, the chill of the breeze, narrow steep path, rolling stones, changing landscape every minute, moving clouds around you, crossing the river over narrow bridges…. The list goes on and on Hemkund Saheb is another marvel. This place left most of the team members ecstatic. What a bliss. The only place I have seen made many people cry with joy. A place that one must visit atleast once in their lifetime. The trek(mule ride), the hospitality at the Gurudwara were breathtaking. It was a testimony to what faith can bring out of people. We could see people of all age groups from 3 to 70+ trek all the way from Govindghat to Hemkund Saheb, carrying children and luggage on shoulders and sometime on mules. Wow… We were exposed to a new world of Ghangaria which come alive in March and sleeps over from October. A town that has everything active only for 4 months.

It had everything that you dreamed about. It had ice (lots and lots of ice), even when I was sleeping battling the cold at night I was could see those ice sheet right in front of my eyes. We were walking on ice, we were drinking those ice (of-course the boiled one), but the most exciting part was that we were never complaining even under these extreme condition. Thank to these amazing group of people I was travelling with. The support staff, the organiser and each and every people related to this trip were an amazing host. They made us feel at home, they fulfilled almost all our demands. I had done 2 treks before with other organizations, but these people were the best. The fun we had is quite vivid with this picture, but trust me nothing can be explained in words, you just have to feel it. Keep yourself fit and go for it . It will change the way you see nature , it will change your perception towards people and many more things. Stay happy and keep trekking

Puneet Prajapati Chadar Trek
Excellent
Being a fauji kid i always dreamt to do something adventurous and so i chose the most dangerous most exciting chadar trek as my first trek. After reaching the hotel in LEH i was welcomed by Satya sir and guess what we both shared common backgrounds i.e. fauj. After having breakfast i went to the room and slept for an hour or two. In the evening we were briefed by Satya sir and Shashank sir about the trek which actually helped me during the trek. We were a group of 14 among which 8 came solo just like me. At night we introduced each other and slept. Next morning we went for sightseeing and explored beautiful Shey palace and monasteries and by that time we all knew each other names. On day 3 we all went for medical checkups and every member from our group was fit for the trek. In the meantime we went to LEH market for some shopping. We were again briefed by Satya sir , Shashank sir and Sonam Sir and guess what we slept in the tents with our sleeping bags. Next day we started our journey from LEH to Chilling . After reaching chilling we were all set to step our foots on chadar for the first time and that feel was amazing. We walked for 3 hours and reached our first campsite. After having a lovely dinner by our porters we sang songs and went to sleep. Next morning i experienced first snowfall of my life and everything all around us appeared to be white and ahhh what an amazing feel i had that time. By God's grace we all successfully made it to Nerak on day 6 and saw that frozen waterfall for the first time. The josh and the deshbhakti inside me came out, i removed my jackets and stuff, wrapped myself in INDIAN FLAG and waved it at NERAK. I cannot describe that feeling until you experience chadar trek, we spent two hours at Nerak. Alright we made it to Nerak so easily and we all were like wow that was easy but nah something was about to come. After having lunch at Tibb caves we started our journey , after an hour there was a patch when our trek leader Dorge sir saw that chadar is weak ahead and went solo upto 50-80 meters & came back and said we cannot go from here, so we climbed up the hill carefully as it was all covered with snow. And again after this we saw the same thing but this time we couldn't go through the hills as those were standing hills. And at this point we all thought one thing that we all made it to nerak so easily, this has to be happened. Dorge sir again went solo up to 50 meters to check the chadar and suddenly his legs went inside the chadar upto knee. Being an experienced trekker he immediately came out and changed his socks. We didnt have any option so we started walking on the chadar. I being second last in my group saw my group mates how carefully they were walking on chadar, I heard the satisfying sound of crushing the chadar when my right foot went inside the chadar and my gumboots was filled by water. Ah i didn't went mad but stayed calm, my friend Dev behind me shouted Dorge sir come here, and he within 30 seconds came back to me removed my gumboots and helped me to change the socks. We successfully made it to our tents that day and the rest of the journey. All I want to say is we were a group of motivators, we became a family and from day 1 to day 9 we all were positive and supported each other. Much thanks to all the porters who made such yummy foods for us. Thank you to dorge sir & Sonam Sir who always said we will go to Nerak. Thank you to Satya sir and Shashank sir who's briefings really helped me during the trek. I wish again to be with this group because we became a family. Thankyou Thrillophilia for such a wonderful journey on chadar. I will be uploading my chadar trek journey on youtube soon i.e. PUNEET VLOGS. Peace

Z Shabir Har Ki Dun Trek
Excellent
To tell the truth, we started this trek with many doubts and inhibitions. Especially since we had 2 children aged 7 & 8 who had done only single day treks till date. Our trek leader Makkhan Singh gave us a complete overview of what we could expect but nothing prepared us for the unadulterated natural beauty that was all around us from the start to the finish of the trek. From Deodar trees in the lower ranges to tall pine forests on taller peaks. The autumn colours were visible in full glory. Many moments bring a smile back to our faces like speaking to the villagers we met on the way, finding a couple of langoors spying on us, having black tea with herbs that instantly refreshed us and many more such memories. Camping was a whole new experience for all of us. It taught us the discipline of timing and the regard for others comfort. The cooks who accompanied us were very thoughtful about our children and tried their best to serve food that kids would enjoy. Needless to say, the snow was the best part of the trek. We made a snowman with the help of trek guide Ashish. He was wonderful with our kids. He played with them, but was also very careful about their safety. I wish to wholeheartedly thank each and every one in the team who helped organize this trek so perfectly. We didn't feel a single moment of confusion or uncertainty over any of the arrangements made. This experience has definitely made us wish to do more such treks in the future.
Had a great sar pass trekking experience.

This was the very first trek of my life and Thrillophilia made sure to make the best of it. A traveller picked us up from Dehradun and we reached Sankri around 4 pm. Mr Bachan Rana made sure we were well instructed and equipped. Our trek guides Mukesh sir and Prakash sir were amazing and made sure no one is left behind. Not having an active physicality, I was always the last one to reach the base, but they made sure I didn't feel left out and helped me with the snow and the rocks. I also made great friends with every member of my group and by the end of the trek, we were one big family. We never would have guessed in our wildest dreams that they would be serving us gulab jamuns and pasta on our trek. They really outdid themselves while catering to our needs. The tents were already pitted and were as warm as they could be. Our group was the first to make it to the summit, watch the sunrise and then slide back. We got to see rainfall, snowfall and a gazillion of stars (a sight I can never forget) on this trek. The bonfires were a cherry on the top. I never knew how badly I needed this trek, an internet detox that really helped me catch up with myself. I would definitely rate this trek a 6/5.

Excellent
I booked this trek at the end of Feb 2021. The weather was somewhat pleasant and a lot windy. The trekking company just started its operations in Leta village after camping in triund got prohibited due to which the washroom situation was not the best. However, the tents were good and the owner was also very accommodating, providing extra sleeping bags to overcome the cold. Our guide was amazing and very supportive throughout the trek. We went till snowline due to time and safety concerns. The food and bonfire were also very good. Overall an amazing experience.
