The Peace Museum Overview

The Peace Museum’s history tells the story of the innumerable individuals who have made an effort to stop violence, inequality, conflict, and extremism and foster cohesiveness, understanding, and peace. There are about 7,000 objects in the collection of the Peace Museum, which traces the development of peacemakers both locally and internationally.

Presently, this museum is housed in three compact, unique galleries at one of the beautiful Victorian Structures in Bradford. It is the first and unique certified museum in the United Kingdom and a member of the Museums for Peace international network. Peace Museum’s mission involves providing information to visitors regarding the stories of peace moments, peacemakers, and peace itself.

It aims to be the resource for further peace-making and showcases the “people of peace” history in which every object present at the museum conveys the story of someone who tried to bring peace to the world. Another aim is to tell various stories about peacemakers by reaching international, national, regional, and local people.

It is a charity that inspires and engages visitors through its exhibitions, striking questions about non-violence, peace, cohesion, diversity, equality, and other things.
