Art Science Museum Overview

Art Science Museum is the only museum in the world that combines art with science to create new and innovative installations. Drawing visitors from around the world, this museum is known for its creative exhibitions and unique architecture. This lotus-shaped building which is referred to as ‘a welcoming hand of Singapore’ was specially designed by famous architect Moshe Safdie.

ArtScience Museum of Singapore presents a perfect blend between two different fields of interests – arts and science. Since ages, this museum has been fusing essential aspects of arts and science to narrate fascinating stories. There’s a lot of continually changing major touring exhibitions, including those featured in Singapore tour packages, that are scheduled here.

Stretching across a land cover of around 6000 square meters and encircling 21 different gallery spaces, ArtScience Museum becomes a must-visit place in Singapore. Right from interactive displays to kid-friendly galleries to a mad tea party, there’s everything here for complete family entertainment.

At the ArtScience Museum, you can find a unique amalgamation of technology, science, and knowledge. This is what makes it a well-known edutainment zone. People from far-off places visit here to witness the bliss of their famous exhibitions. ‘The Deep Sea’ and ‘The Nobel Prize’ were some of the previous presentations that were scheduled here. The Deep Sea exhibit reflected insight into deep-sea life.

Those who marked their presence for this exhibit witnessed the mightiness of the abyssal creatures. These creatures represent the deep-sea life of Southeast Asia. On the other hand, ‘The Nobel Prize’ exhibition highlights the importance of the Nobel prize being awarded for some outstanding contributions. It also focused on a massive revolution brought in by the emergence of this award.

Besides the temporary exhibits, FUTURE WORLD is a permanent exhibition here. This exhibit is a part of a 1500 square meter stretched digital universal art installation. The theme of this exhibit revolves around the facts from nature, science, park, and town. Floating Utopia’s Exhibition is yet another exhibit to adore here.

Timely, the authorities of the ArtScience Museum do schedule events and workshops for their guest's entertainment. ArtScience Late, ArtScience on Screen, ArtScience in Focus, Conversations, Family Fridays are some of their activities. Amongst the latest workshops, they have Floating Utopia’s, Wonderland, Kids Book Club, and Future World.

Art Science Museum FAQs

What is the history of the ArtScience Museum?

Construction of the ArtScience Museum was never easy. It was all bundled with extreme difficulties and complexities. In the beginning, the museum was about to be featured as an amphitheater with 300 seating capacity. However, the architecture was horribly terrified with public disapproval. The original design presented by the artist resembled a bunch of bananas and hence was rejected. With the use of 3D modeling, the architect of the ArtScience Museum completely changed the design of the museum. Today, what you see is a structure with ten irregular petals arranged in a structured manner. Around 5000 different prefabricated pieces were utilized in the entire process whose assembly today reflects a giant jigsaw puzzle.
