It is one of the main tourist places in Kullu where you will find a huge dam taming the feisty flow of the mountain river Beas. Pandoh Dam is an embankment dam present in Mandi district. It is constructed on the Beas River. The dam generates hydroelectricity. It is located at a distance of 10 km from the Manali and was constructed in 1977. The manmade lake is the reservoir where the water from the river is accumulated.

    The dam generates 990 watts of power in a diverse terrain. Beas River is tamed by the installation of this dam before it meets the fierce force of Sutlej. The site of releasing the water is definitely a treat for the eye. In the lower bed, you can here experience amazing rafting in Kullu which is an amazing and favourite activity to the people here. Bhakra Beas Management Board takes care of this dam and the road that travels over this dam is NH21. There are various attractions near to this so tourists always visit this place.

    Friendship Peak is one of the most famous trekking summits present in India. The Friendship Peak is one of the best places to visit in Kullu and is at an elevation of 5,289 meters. The place is considered as trekker’s paradise. The panoramic view of this place is a treat for your eyes you will never forget. This trek is one of the most challenging routes in Himachal Pradesh. Truth be told, this is a difficult one and only those with an experience in trekking are allowed to go for the extreme terrain.

    One can witness beautiful Solan Valley filled with alpine meadows, thick forests, and colourful orchards here. The small streams passing down the valley offer a mesmerizing view from the top. The trekking gets more challenging with the increase in the altitude. The enthusiasts have to climb the snow beds, should trek over the narrow ridges and glaciated tracks. There are various major attractions you will find in this area. Some of them are Hadimba Temple in Manali, Naggar Roerich Art Gallery, hot water springs of Vasisht and many more. 

    The trek starts from Solang Valley, a two-hour drive from Manali. From there, you have to start trekking the mountain till Bakarthach. After going through a thick forest and lush green valley, you have to trek till you reach the base camps. There are two base camps on your way to the Friendship Peak. After reaching the summit, the trek is reversed downhill in the same way and ends in Manali.

    Location: It is situated at the lower mall road in Kasauli. The place is just 350 mts from the famous Ros Common.

    Sri Guru Nanak Devji Gurudwara is one of the must-visit tourist places in Kullu. It is located near the hot springs at Manikaran and is a sacred place for Sikhs and Hindus. The temple is located in the lap of nature and gives out the positive vibes whenever you visit it.

     The hot springs and the beautiful temple will definitely give you the best feeling. Like all the other gurudwaras, the place is clean and maintained very well by the internal staff. The holy place was designed back in the 16th century when Guru Nanak visited Manikaran. Legend says that his disciples were very hungry.

    They did not find any food to eat. Guru Nanak sent one disciple to the community kitchen to find something to eat. The locals gave them flour to make flatbread but there was no fire or hot water.

     When the disciple complied, lifted the stone, a hot spring automatically appeared. The disciples cooked their food using the heat of the spring. Since then, this area has showered every visitor with blessings.

    No physical fire is used to cook the rice and curry provided at this place. The geothermal heat is enough to cook food here. The Gurudwara is one of the major tourist attractions in Kullu and mesmerizes the visitors with its architecture and beauty. The age-old art and architecture are visible in the temples and the Gurudwara. The tourists, who like to witness the century-old arts and architecture, will find an excellent example of 16th-century masterpieces here.
