Reviewed: Everest Base Camp Trek, Nepal 2019

Are you planning to head for a trek to the Everest Base camp? Well hear my story of my experience to this wonderful heaven on Earth, I am basically from Rajasthan, and am a great lover of trek, I never leave any trekking place in the World untouched, there are many I have taken up and there are still vast to explore, as I was trekking to each and every place that I had shortlisted from my bucket list, the Everest base camp took its turn last month, I was very eagerly waiting for this trek ever since I had heard from the Indian friends about a trekking destination like this in Nepal. The Everest memory is going to be in memories forever; base camp at the world’s highest mountain is not everyone’s cup of tea. It needs endurance, agility, talent and stability to survive the whole way through, which is what I have learnt from the trek. When the temperature in Rajasthan was touching around 40 degree, I decided to trek to the Everest to take a break from the climate and the city. I read about the reviews before hand and planned everything, initially I thought of going alone, but at the last moment some old school friends of mine joined up, so it was a team of ten heading to the highest peak of the world. Our journey began at Rajasthan, and within few hours we reached Kathmandu, from where we were supposed to be picked up by our guides, we moved on from here to a nearby hotel, as we wanted to fresh up and make ourselves active before the actual trek began, so our first day was a complete rest at the hotel, the next day we went down to explore the Kathmandu valleys and monkey temple, and then by evening we were boarded flight to Lukla, and here finally our trekking activity started, caught a glimpse of this statue on way – Late Pasang Lhamu Sherpa ( the first Nepali women to reach the world top), and then from here we reached to Phakding, here we halted for some time, took a short nap for a couple of hours, and on our guides call we started to trek towards gateway of Everest, Namche Bazaar. Uphill and downhill trek over here was simply amazing, then we had to stop at Jorsale for some legal paper work, which was taken care of well by our guide, crossing the alpine vegetation and suspension bridge we landed at Namche Bazaar, after halting here overnight we started our acclimatizing walk towards the Everest view hotel from where we caught view of various peaks, Kusum Kangaroo, Thamsekru, Amadablam and the gigantic Mt. Everest. Then we trekked to Tengboche, Dingboche, Nagarjuna hill and then towards Lobuche. From Lobuche the final lap of trek to Everest base camp began, after trekking for around three hours I finally made it up to the Everest Base camp. That feel being on top of this Everest was like being on top of the world. Yay! I was waiting for this moment since then to share it with my friends, relatives and other trekking enthusiasts.

We were picked up from the location on time. It was a great experience. After going there, they gave an option to sit over the top with Rs1000 pp extra. We paid it. The buffet was good and the show was nice too. Safari was good. Camel ride is a short one. Advisable to wear comfortable clothes and carry a jacket along for the late evening. Hospitality was good .overall great.

The agency that conducted this trek for us was exceptional. The trip was surreal for us as we were there during peak snowfall. Though the trek during his time was definitely not easy and was quite challenging, the folks ensured a super pleasant experience for us and provided us with support wherever needed. The guides, Pinku sir, Mohan sir and Kamal sir were all terrific people. The chefs at each base camp deserve more applause than any 5-star hotel chef by a huge margin. I am so glad I took this trek and experienced something life revolutionary.

Trek was amazing!!!! I enjoyed every bit of starting from the ice breaker round to the bus journey. This is a lifetime experience. I can’t believe it was so amazing much more than I expected. Starting from a foggy day crossing small water outlets to grow in depth of long trees. passing through the mid-point it is totally rocky. We can really feel the crush of trekking. Once we reach the top. This is a #mustgotrek for all the adventurous people out there !

This was my first trek and my first solo trip. It completely changed my view of a lot of things. The group that I went with, and (the organisers) deserve all the credit for that. The trek was moderately difficult, in the sense that there were stretches where you could almost walk while there were portions where you literally had to climb on all fours. But the views of the lush green mountains studded with tiny cottages and topped with fluffy clouds was more than enough reward for our labours. The waterfall in the middle of the trail was a lovely surprise. After every few steps as I turned back and looked in any direction- up, down, around- I could see a completely different picture. The weather played a lovely accompaniment to the landscape, as the sun played hide and seek with the clouds, we had enough warmth and respite from the heat. The sunset was a perfect curtain drop to the climb. To top it off, the moon rose on the other side as the sun set! Not to forget, the roller coaster ride on the jeep on the way back was fun and a wee bit scary. The bonfire at the homestay added some adrenaline to the depleted stores after the trek. The short trip to the Nagara Fort the following day was the cherry on the icing, a very quiet relaxing view. The drive back to the city was filled with soothing views of the mountains, and before we knew, we were back in the city! Goodbyes were tough, but we had to say them, even though we didn't want to, because the bunch of strangers I had joined on the bus on Friday already felt like long-time friends on Sunday evening! To sum it up, it was a hectic tour, but the memories I took back with me left me wanting more.

This is a very nice place to visit and stay overnight in a camping tent. They have quite a few activities like Camping, Rappelling, Kayaking, archery, bonfire, Zip line, you can swim in the lake, they also have mud pools to play volleyball and kabaddi; rain dance, human foosball and the usual stuff like cricket etc. Carry extra clothing for mud pool and rain daance; and if planning to stay in the tent carry pillows (they do not provide) and if possible your own blankets. Food is like what you get at any of these camping places, just average. The place is quite open and nice view of the rocky hills overlooking the lake. Overall value for money!! Give it try once.

Our First outing with new team was planned to a wonderful place near to Ramanagara, which was called Camp Fire Circle. It was not one of those normal resorts where we used to go just to play the usual games and conduct team activities among ourselves, but it was a totally different outdoor activity place for the team to enjoy. We started our journey early in the morning by 7:45 with a wonderful group of 15 people. There was a slight delay in our journey, but somehow we managed to reach Bidadi for a quick breakfast around 9:30 AM at Renuka Hotel to have their famous THATTE IDLI, for which we all were eager to have. After a quick breakfast break of 45 min, we continued to our destination and finally we reached at 11:30 AM. It was a beautiful view with Mountains surrounded and Sloppy Roads and also we saw a wonderful lake from our bus while reaching the Place, It was a nice scenic view and everyone started clicking pictures and selfies while they reached the place. After reaching the place, we had a guide who told us a brief schedule about the activities that are going to be conducted and how we can cover everything in a short span of time. We started our activity with trekking, where we had to climb a small mountain. Then we had reached the caves which had a lot of Bee Hives to be aware of, but somehow managed to go there and relax for some time. After that we saw so many selfi points, where we clicked couple of amazing pictures. After the trekking was done, we had our lunch break that had different varieties of food to have. Then we went For Rappelling, which is a vertical drop or walk from the mountains downwards. At the beginning it looked a bit dangerous to give a try for it, but then everyone managed to do this activity and each one had a very different experience to share after they did this. At the end everyone realized that nothing is impossible. (It was well planned and safe). Late afternoon we then went for Kayaking, this was a water activity which was perfect to go on with the wonderful weather that day. We did not have any particular time for it as we just took the boats with life jackets and got into the water and learnt how to kayak. This activity was quite good and everyone enjoyed it. Around 5pm, we had a quick bite and then we headed towards the rain dance which was our last activity of the day, it went on for about 30 Minutes as everyone were dancing with joy and showed what they are capable of in Dancing. ? So we had to Wind up by 6:30 PM and it was really a wonderful end to the day, we had a really nice experience and it also got each other to know better as a team and individual and Camp fire Circle was a beautiful resort that we had been to and we would love to come again soon. Cheers!!! ???

It was a team outing, 30 of us from office and a few also got their family and kids! I and few others in my team were looking everywhere and nothing seemed to match our requirements. It had to be fun, well coordinated, there should be team building and games, physical activities, adventurous and it should be a memorable day. Well the budget too was pretty tight. Nothing seemed to tick all the check boxes until I arrived on this resort's page on Thrillophilia. There are a lot of activities that you can do, zorbing, jumaring, rappeling, trekking, zipline, rain-dance, bow and arrow, dart, cricket, hiking and lots of team games. There is fresh air, great ambience, kids would love it, they even gave us a tent, the food was very good, one of the friendliest staff, it was overall incredibly memorable and fun. I recommend this place for short groups, friends and family too!

The support staff were very helpful and made our tour more enjoyable. Overall a perfect biking experience in Ladakh with a lot of adventure and fun. " & Special thanks to Mr. Devanshu from Thrillophilia who allowed my 2yr 11 months old daughter for bike tour.. because of him she might become the youngest child who completed Leh bike tour.

It had everything that you dreamed about. It had ice (lots and lots of ice), even when I was sleeping battling the cold at night I was could see those ice sheet right in front of my eyes. We were walking on ice, we were drinking those ice (of-course the boiled one), but the most exciting part was that we were never complaining even under these extreme condition. Thank to these amazing group of people I was travelling with. The support staff, the organiser and each and every people related to this trip were an amazing host. They made us feel at home, they fulfilled almost all our demands. I had done 2 treks before with other organizations, but these people were the best. The fun we had is quite vivid with this picture, but trust me nothing can be explained in words, you just have to feel it. Keep yourself fit and go for it . It will change the way you see nature , it will change your perception towards people and many more things. Stay happy and keep trekking
