A road trip to Ladakh is the most popular adventure in India right now and rightly so. The thrill of riding a motorbike on an altitude of up to 15,000 feet is something that can quench the wanderlust of even those with the worst case of it.

There are two motorable routes to reach Ladakh from Delhi – Ladakh via Manali and Ladakh via Srinagar. The other route that connects Delhi to Ladakh is the one that goes through Srinagar. The altitude gain on this route is gradual, thus this route is preferred by many in order to avoid mountain sickness. Moreover, this route takes you through paradisiacal locations like Srinagar, Gulmarg, Drass, and Kargil. So, this route is recommended if you are willing to explore Kashmir on wheels. The total length of the route from Srinagar to Leh is 409 km.

Upon reaching Leh, you can set out to explore the gems of Ladakh like Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, and Tso Moriri. These places are well connected with Leh through roadway except during the times of heavy snowfalls.

The iconic Pangong Lake sits at a distance of 222 km from the capital town Leh and can be reached in 6-7 hours, riding through Hemis and Tangtse. Another scenic lake, Tso Moriri lies at a distance of 220 km from Leh. One needs to take Keylong-Leh Road to reach Tso Moriri From Leh. The route from Leh to Nubra Valley passes through Khardung La, and the total distance is 160 km.
