Ladakh Holiday Packages from Delhi

Planning a Ladakh trip from Delhi? Don’t miss out on the following important factors before setting off for your journey to ensure a safe and comfortable exploration.

Delhi provides the quickest and most seamless accessibility to Ladakh in India. A direct flight to Leh takes around 75 minutes, but it also moves you from an elevation of about 215 metres to 3,514 metres almost instantly. That shift is not just a travel insight but a very important factor defining your entire trip experience.

Most Ladakh trips from Delhi go wrong at this exact point. Travellers optimise for speed. As soon as they land in Leh, they start moving immediately. However, the human body is unable to adjust and adapt to the elevation shift that quickly, and such careless trips are known to end up pretty bad.

Note that the first two days, after landing in Leh, are not at all spare fun time. Instead, they are just another part of the itinerary. If you ignore them, the rest of the trip could be a nightmare. At the same time, flying is not the only way to reach Ladakh. You can also travel through the Manali-Leh Highway or the Srinagar-Leh route for more natural acclimatisation and less toll on your body. Each option works differently. The right choice depends on how much time you have and how you want to experience the journey.

A Ladakh tour package from Delhi primarily works when it is executed around three things: how you enter, how you adapt, and how you move further. Everything else is secondary.

Ladakh Tour Package from Delhi - Breakdown

The cost of your Ladakh tour package from Delhi depends on how you travel and what you include. The experience depends more on how the itinerary is structured than on the total budget.

A standard itinerary covering Leh, Nubra Valley, and Pangong Lake usually runs for 5 to 12 days. Road-based trips extend this due to travel time. Costs vary based on flight bookings, hotel category, and transport type. Flights are typically separate and fluctuate depending on demand.

Price (overall): INR 17,000 to INR 50,000 per person, based on the season, flight fares, and selected itinerary.

Duration: 5 to 12 days

Inclusions: Accommodation, a structured itinerary, airfare and transportation, a good breakfast, 24/7 on-the-ground assistance, airport transfers, selected activities and destinations based on the selected package.

Budget

Duration: 5 to 7  days

Common Route: Leh, Nubra Valley,  Pangong Tso

Price: INR 17,000 to INR 26,500 per adult

Our insights: These packages are the primary budget-friendly packages for travellers wanting to explore Ladakh in a short time and under budget. Though it won’t be the ideal package to explore every bit of Ladakh, as exploring the cold desert fully takes a minimum of 5 to 7 days.

Mid-Range

Duration: 7 to 9 days

Common Route: Leh to Sham Valley to Lamayuru to Dah & Hanu Village to again Leh and then Khardungla to Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso and back to Leh

Price: INR 22,500 to INR 29,777

Our insights: These packages are some of the most booked packages by our travellers. Booking of these packages has increased more than 2½ times since 2025 (according to the Thrillophilia operational team). These packages include the offbeat Ladakh itineraries and other packages like honeymoon tours or family tour packages covering all types of travellers.

Luxury

Duration: 9 to 12 days

Common Routes: Leh to Sham Valley to Khardungla, Nubra Valley, Pangong, Chang-la, and Stok Village to again back to Leh.

Price: INR 29,777  to INR 39,423

Our insights: With more than a 47% booking rate (according to the Thrillophilia operational team), these packages offer luxury and comfort while travelling to your dream destination. Whether you are a nature lover, an activity enthusiast or both, these Ladakh tour packages let you enjoy your trip at your own pace, including the best of Ladhak in detail as a highlight.

Delhi to Ladakh - The 75-minute gateway to 3,514m

Flying from Delhi to Leh is the quickest high-altitude transition in the country. It saves time, but it also puts immediate pressure on your body, along with risks, if not handled cautiously. The oxygen level drops significantly with the elevation, and hence, your system needs time to stabilise with the environment.

Remember – the first 48 hours in Leh are not flexible. Here is what you have to take care of in Ladakh after landing for at least the next 48 to 72 hours, after a quick 75-minute flight from Delhi.

  • Day one is for rest – no long drives, no sightseeing, and no physical exertion.
  • Day two allows limited movement, but it's still within control.
  • Day three could be your beginning if you have successfully adapted to the change.

Many travellers feel perfectly fine after landing and assume they can move freely. However, the problem is that altitude impact often shows up later. What feels manageable on arrival can turn into fatigue or discomfort later.

Three Ways to Reach Ladakh from Delhi - Mode Selection Guide

Delhi offers three practical routes to Ladakh, and each serves a different purpose.

  • Delhi to Leh Flight: Flying is the most efficient option. It works best for families, couples, and travellers with limited time. You reach Leh quickly and begin your trip after acclimatisation. The condition is that you follow the first two days strictly.
  • Road Trip via NH 3: The Manali-Leh Highway is a road-based approach that allows gradual altitude gain. This reduces the shock to the body and suits travellers who want the journey to be part of the experience. It involves long travel hours and remote stretches, which require preparation.
  • Road Trip via NH 1: The Srinagar-Leh route offers a more gradual climb compared to Manali and relatively stable road conditions. It is often chosen by travellers who want a smoother road journey or plan to combine Kashmir with Ladakh.

A combined approach works well for many travellers. Fly into Leh, complete your circuit, and return by road, or vice versa, for easier acclimatisation. This avoids repeating the same old route and balances time with new experiences that you can capture and share with your loved ones.

Acclimatisation Protocol for Delhi Flyers – Compulsory 48 Hrs Rest

You must ensure you take at least 36 to 48 hours to get accustomed to the temperature and altitude of the Leh-Ladakh region so that you do not face any health issues later due to altitude sickness.

  • Day 1: Day one in Leh should be treated as a complete rest. Avoid travelling beyond your immediate area. Do not attempt any high-altitude movement. Drink enough water and keep your body relaxed.
  • Day 2: Day two allows light movement. Short walks are fine. Slight elevation gain helps your body adjust. Long drives and high passes are still not advisable.

Understanding altitude sickness is important. Mild Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) symptoms include headache, nausea, and fatigue. These are common and usually settle with rest. Severe symptoms such as breathlessness at rest or confusion are not normal and require immediate attention. Hydration plays a key role in ensuring your well-being at such altitudes. Most issues are worsened when travellers underestimate how much water and air they need at those heights.

Documents and Permits needed for your Ladakh trip from Delhi

Ladakh ILP Permit Architecture: A Complete Guide

Permits are a practical part of travelling in Ladakh and need to be planned correctly.

Leh itself does not require a permit, which is why the first two days are usually spent there. However, the Inner Line Permits (ILPs) are required for regions such as Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Tso Moriri, Dah-Hanu, and certain restricted areas. These are issued in Leh and can be obtained online or through local offices.

Arrange these permits in advance to avoid losing time post-arrival. This directly affects your itinerary and trip experience, especially if your trip duration is limited. With Thrillophilia’s Delhi to Ladakh tour packages, you need not worry about these passes if you get them all arranged with us!

Road and permit updates (April 2026)

  • Road access on the Manali-Leh and Srinagar-Leh routes depends on weather and maintenance conditions.
  • Permit processing timelines may vary during peak travel periods.
  • Flight schedules may change due to weather conditions in the region.

Practical Logistics for Delhi travellers

Note the following for your Leh, Ladakh, tour from Delhi.

  • Mobile connectivity is limited outside Leh. Networks may work in town but may drop in remote areas.
  • ATMs are available mainly in Leh, so carrying cash is necessary for travel beyond it.
  • Fuel stations are limited. Long routes require planning refuelling stops.
  • Weather conditions can affect travel timing. Keeping buffer time helps maintain flexibility.

Best time to visit Ladakh from Delhi

  • March to September is the open season for Ladakh trips – perfect for sightseeing due to pleasant weather and accessibility.
  • October & November offer fewer crowds and stable conditions but mark the beginning of its seasonal transition.
  • November to February is a winter destination for the Ladakh trip, especially known for its Chadar winter trek and frozen Ladakh trips. Road routes are limited, and travel depends mainly on flights.

So, completely based on your personal preferences, you may find it the best during times most do not!

Ladakh’s Core Circuits for Delhi Travellers

Ladakh is not about covering the maximum places. It is about exploring the right way to travel. Here are some of the popular Ladakh circuits from Delhi:

  • Fly-in Family Circuit (via Leh, Nubra & Pangong): A 7-day itinerary is the most practical format for first-time travellers. It includes Leh for acclimatisation, followed by Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake.
  • Manali-Leh Road Trip (via Rohtang & Baralacha): A 10-day trip via Manali adds the road journey and allows gradual altitude gain. This changes the experience and makes the route itself part of the trip.
  • Full Loop Trip: (via NH 1 & NH 3): A longer circuit covering Srinagar, Leh, and Manali provides a complete loop without repetition. This works best for travellers with more time.
  • Classic Delhi Bike Ride (via Manali, Leh & Srinagar): Bike trips follow similar routes but require additional planning for around two to three weeks. Fuel availability, road conditions, and weather become more important in this case.

Key Tourist Attractions in Ladakh

  • Pangong Tso: Pangong Lake sits at around 4,350 metres and is known for its colour variation depending on the light. The experience changes significantly between a short visit and an overnight stay for this 134 km transboundary lake.
  • Tso Moriri: Tso Moriri is less crowded and more remote, perfect for peace lovers. This place, also popularly known as the Highest Accessible Wetland of India at an elevation of 4,522m, requires additional permits and planning but offers a quieter environment.
  • Nubra Valley: Known as the orchard of Ladakh, Nubra Valley offers a different landscape and lies at a lower altitude than Leh (around 10,000 ft). It is accessed via the Khardung La Pass and is usually more comfortable after acclimatisation. Explore its key attractions such as Diskit Monastery, Hunder dunes and double-humped Bactrian camels.
  • Zanskar Valley: Zanskar Valley is not part of most standard itineraries due to its limited access, and hence, is ideal for spiritual exploration and alone time. It becomes relevant in winter for specific experiences such as the Chadar Trek.
  • Magnetic Hill’s Illusion: Magnetic Hill is often misunderstood for its key optical illusion, showing anti-gravity characteristics, created due to specific terrain alignment rather than any anti-gravitational or magnetic force.

Why Choose Thrillophilia for your Ladakh Expedition from Delhi?

We plan Ladakh trips around altitude, not just destinations. The focus is on making the itinerary work efficiently from the moment you land.

  • ILP Pre-Management - We initiate Inner Line Permit applications for your Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, and Tso Moriri trips 72 hours before your departure so that your permits are active on arrival in Leh. This avoids DC office queues and protects your first two days.
  • Acclimatisation Monitoring - Every group follows a structured acclimatisation check using pulse oximeters on Day 1 and Day 2 in Leh. If resting SpO2 levels drop below 90%, the itinerary is reviewed before any further movement.
  • DEL–LEH Flight Alignment - Itineraries are aligned with early morning Delhi to Leh flights, typically between 0600 and 0800. This maximises rest time on arrival before altitude impact builds.
  • Stay Selection by Location – Hotels and camps are selected based on proximity to medical access, road connectivity, and altitude suitability rather than just category or pricing for your comfort, safety and satisfaction.

Our approach ensures your Ladakh trip from Delhi runs on schedule, not adjustment. So what are you waiting for? Talk to our travel expert and get your journey backed with a well-planned itinerary from one of our Ladakh tour packages from Delhi.

This was my first ever experience with Thrillophilia and oh boy, I loved it. Even though the itinerary was standard, the vendor team that Thrillophillia parterened with was great. Hotels were nice with good food. Car was clean, and the driver we had Mr.Dorje was outstanding. He was very helpful, was always telling stories around the place and even took the pain of checking with restaurants for food availability even before us having to get out of the car. Dorje never had any issue even for multiple stops for clicking pics and is such an experienced driver as to how he handled the traffic situation at Changla Pass. My only suggestion would be ... Ladakh Tours From delhi FAQs

Is there a direct flight from Delhi to Leh?

Yes, multiple daily non-stop flights operate between Delhi and Leh with a duration of around 75 minutes. Flights are weather-sensitive, so delays and cancellations are common.

What permits are required for Ladakh?

Inner Line Permits are required for Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Tso Moriri, and other restricted areas. These are issued in Leh and should be planned well before your travel days.

Is Ladakh safe for families with children?

Yes, a Ladakh trip is generally safe for families if acclimatisation is handled properly. The first 48 hours in Leh should be reserved for rest before attempting higher-altitude locations.

What is the best way to travel from Delhi to Ladakh?

Flying from Delhi to Ladakh is the fastest travel option and works for most travellers. Road routes via Manali or Srinagar are way better if you want gradual altitude gain and a longer journey with more time to explore.

Can I visit Ladakh in November or December from Delhi?

Yes, via direct flight. November and December offer frozen conditions and fewer crowds, but NH-3 and NH-1 remain closed, limiting travel to Leh and Nubra Valley. January-February is the Chadar Trek season.

What are the best months to visit Leh Ladakh?

May to September is considered the ideal window to plan your Ladakh tour package. During these months, both the Manali and Srinagar highways open up, the weather remains comfortably pleasant, and all major lakes and high passes are accessible without much hassle.

Can we use our outside rented car or bike for local sightseeing in Ladakh?

No, vehicles rented outside the region are not allowed for commercial sightseeing within Ladakh due to local transport union regulations. You can use them to reach Leh town, but for visiting Nubra Valley or Pangong Lake, you must hire a local taxi or rent a bike from registered vendors in Leh.

Which mobile networks work best in the Ladakh region?

Only postpaid SIM cards work in Ladakh, as prepaid connections from other Indian states are automatically deactivated upon entry. BSNL offers the widest coverage across remote valleys, while Jio and Airtel deliver excellent high-speed 4G data in Leh town and popular tourist hubs like Nubra.

How many days are ideal for a complete Ladakh tour package?

A duration of 8 to 10 days is highly recommended to cover the classic Ladakh circuit comfortably. This timeframe gives you the mandatory 2 days for initial altitude acclimatisation in Leh, followed by fulfilling drives to Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, and local monasteries without feeling rushed.

What clothes should I pack for a Ladakh summer trip?

Dressing in layers is the ultimate trick to tackling Ladakh's highly unpredictable mountain weather. Carry light cotton t-shirts for sunny daytimes, but definitely pack thermal inners, a sturdy fleece jacket, a windproof down jacket, and woollen gloves for freezing evenings.
