About the Destination:
The Himalayas and the Karakoram ranges cradle in their midst a gem of a destination, called Ladakh- ‘The Land of High Passes’. Nowhere else would you find a region so rich with diversity! The landscapes here are always bedecked in all of nature’s finery. Somewhere they are dressed in the greens of the meadows, somewhere they take up the azure blues of the Pangong Tso Lake, some where they are embellished in sliver of the mountains and yest somewhere else they take up the arid, brown colour of the desert!
The only way to truly know the beauty of Ladakh and its capital city, Leh is to ride through its rich and varied landscapes. Embark on this once in a lifetime chance, drop everything and just hit GO!
As you arrive in Delhi, embark on an overnight bus journey that will take you to the tiny tourist settlement of Manali. It is here that your Leh Ladakh bike trip and sightseeing journey finally begins.
Freshen up in your hotels and have a delicious, wholesome meal to prepare for half-a-day guided bike tour of the city. Travel the roads of Old Manali to discover the feel of a typical Indian mountain life. Take a break at the Buddhist monastries. Admire the towering statue of the historical Buddha. Succumb to the flavours and aromas of local cuisine. Experience a brush with Tibetan refugees. Visit the ancient stone and wooden Hidimba Temple. Return to your accommodation. Retire for the night.
Start your first leg of mountain biking in the Great Himalayan terrain after a wholesome breakfast. Leave Manali behind to hit the route on the Rohtang Pass (3,980m), the gateway to the gorgeous Lahaul and Spiti Valley. Heading towards Keylong, this highway pass takes you through snow clad mountains and delightful hamlets with pretty looking residences. Enjoy these views to arrive at Keylong. Retire for the night at a hotel.
Perhaps the most exciting and adventurous ride of the entire tour begins with an early morning breakfast. Get on your bikes to travel on the world’s second highest motorable pass, Tanglang La (17,480ft). Situated in the Ladak region, perpetually drowned in snow, ride along the endless lines of colourful Buddhist prayer flags that are characteristic to the land. Experience the adrenaline rush as you make swift and tactful turns around the 21 loops of Gata. Arrive at Leh towards the end of the day to retire for the night in a hotel.
Enjoy your relaxed start to the day for you’ll be going on a leisurely ride around the beautiful mountain town of Leh. Experience a world of Tibetan culture and tradition. Find the Tibetan styled fortress, perched on a mountain top looking down a busy little town. Continue to ride outside the town limits on a zigzag road towards Khardungla Pass [5,359m]. Seize the thrill of riding on a terrain that has been barely embraced. Return to Lehto rest for the night.
Begin early for a day-long excursion to Pangong Lake, a high altitude lake offering absolutely gorgeous views of the Himalayas. This enchanting lake with its unique ability of transforming its colour into myriad hues is breath-taking. Spend an entire day amidst an untouched piece of nature. Return to Leh by end of day. Retire into your accommodation.
Exit from Leh after brekafast to continue of the Leh Highway towards Tsomoriri Lake, the highest high altitude lake entirely in the territory of India. A secluded lake flanked with breathtaking views of lofty mountains, it attracts several migratory species of rare birds and wildlife. Known to be a land dominated by nomads, the region comes under the Tsomoriri Wetland Conservation Reserve. Be prepared to experience harsh mountainuous weather conditions. Check into an overnight camp site.
After breakfast begin another day of long distance riding. By now the familiar mountain terrains comfort you with their astounding views and serene ambience. Head to Sarchu, a barren land located at an elevation of 14,500ft. Historically, a significant point along the ancient silk route, the ride also gives you a stopover at yet another high altitude lake, and a ride through Tsokar village before entering Sarchu for an overnight stay.
Begin your return journey to Manali this morning after breakfast, which should take you around 9 Hours. On return, turn in at the hotel, marking the end of the Ladakh trip by bike.
Departure from Manali to Delhi (625km)
As you arrive to the familiar environs of Delhi, feel the magic of Leh and Ladakh tug at your heart once again, until you return.

We decided to go on this bike trip last July. The whole trip was arranged very well. We also had an amazing tour guide with us. Once we reached Leh we were given our bikes for the tour. The bikes were all very well maintained. We started out trip from Sarchu and trust me guys it was one of the best rides ever. The serene mountains and the valleys made it all perfect for us. Our accommodation and services were brilliant. They took care of everything for us. The food was good as well. As we were more than 10 people on this trip there was a backup jeep that was following us throughout the trip. We also had camping in this package which was another interesting thing for us. Camping under the clear night sky with a bonfire by the shining lake was the best experience ever. Although it was a bit cold but the warm camps made us feel more relaxing. We rode through the highest motorable pass as well. Altogether it was a great trip.

I along with my friends was planning to visit Ladakh when we saw this bike trip. At once we cooked the tour from Thrillophilia. The booking process was easy and everything was well arranged. We were joined by another group of riders on this trip. We reached Manali and were provided with our Enfiled Bike (350cc/500cc) bikes. They were the best. We started our ride through the amazing beauty of the valleys and the rough terrain. The scenic views were amazing. We also had an amazing guide who was taking care of everything. He was very detailed oriented and was explain about each of the places. Our accommodation and food was superb as well. Overall it was a great trip. I would definitely love to visit there once again.
