Sightseeing in Leh
Your trip to the unforgettable landscapes of Leh starts with your arrival at Leh Airport. Take a drive down to the hotel and check-in. This day will be spent for acclimatization and sightseeing of the palace, market and the Shanti Stupa. Overnight and dinner at the hotel.
Lamayuru Monastery, Gurudwara Patthar Saahib, Magnetic Hill, Moon Landscapes
Your day will begin with a drive from Leh towards Sham valley of the Ladakh region, situated close to the River Indus. Enroute you will visit the Liker and Lamayuru monasteries, the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, gravity-defying Magnetic Hill and the Moon Landscapes. Overnight at a hotel in Alchi.
Alchi Monastery, Hall of Fame
After breakfast, you will head back towards the start point, Leh, and on the way, visit the Alchi monastery and the reputed, Hall of Fame. On returning to Leh, the rest of your day can be spent at leisure.
Nubra valley, Deskit, Hunder, Big Buddha
The journey from Leh to Nubra is a scenic drive on the highest motorable road in the world Khardung La, 18,380ft. You can also opt for an exotic camel safari in the sand dunes between the Deskit and Hundur villages. Spend an overnight at Nubra.
Return from Nubra to Leh, visit Deskit monastery enroute
This day will start with a drive in the direction of Leh but you will be making a stopover at the Deskit monastery, an old establishment also called Big Buddha. Again, you will pass the Khardung La before reaching Leh. Spend an overnight at the hotel there.
You will begin a journey, early in the day, to Pangong Lake, which is known to remain frozen for most of the year. Passing the Chang La, which is located at an altitude of 17,000ft and considered the world’s third highest motorable road, you will finally reach the shores of this dreamy lake. Let the azure blue waters cast their spell on you as you take in the beautiful sights.Relax and enjoy an evening at the campsite on the lake.
Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace
Post witnessing a beautiful sunrise, you will be driven from Pangong Lake to Leh enroute taking a break to see the beautiful Thiksey monastery and the royal palce at Shey. Overnight and dinner at hotel.
