About Sandhan Valley:
Sandhan Valley is a unique experience combining adventure activity such as Rappelling and staying amidst nature. Sandhan valley is a water-carved valley around 200 feet deep. Sandhan is located near beautiful Bhandardara region near the village called Samrad. Samrad village and Sandhan Valley is surrounded by Alang, Madan and Kulang Mountains.
Sandhan Valley trek starts from Samrad village. Total trek time is around 5 hours which includes rappelling and crossing pool of water. And deep gorges and one of its kinds of life experience which you feel at end of the trek.

Brilliant & deep narrow rock floored ravine between the two high walls of a mountain range. At some places, its width is less than 3 ft so that at some places sun rays unable to reach. So its called the valley of the shadow.
To go at the end side of the gorge you have cross 2-3 water pools, water level changes according to seasons, in winter it is up to waist & in summer it is up to knee height. At the end of the valley, you get a magnificent view of high cliffs & deep valleys.
Sandhan Valley trek via Samrad to Dehaene is a high difficulty grade trek in the Sahyadri. The Sandhan Valley full-descend is just
2.5 kms long (up to campsite) but the time taken to finish it on a
normal weekend is around 10 hours. It starts with a flat trail until you reach the opening of Sandhan Valley. Once you’re into Sandhan Valley,
you will be descending through the valley for the entire duration.

Day 2 Saturday
01:30 am - Meet our Team at Kasara St. And move towards the base village in Jeep.
03:30 am - Reach Base village, and take some rest
05:00 am - Wake up call, freshen up, gear up for the trek
05:30 am - Breakfast/tea to start our day.
06:30 am - Introduction round, brief on rules and regulations to be followed by everyone on the event. Enjoy trekking; at a 4ft deep water patch approx. 30m length, descending on the rock patches, rappelling 50ft. down on a rock patch, etc. All this only adds to the thrill of the whole exploration.
06:00 pm - Reach campsite. Refresh, relax and enjoy the sunset.
08.00 pm - Settle down for dinner followed by the campfire.
10:00 pm - Stories, sharing experiences, fun-filled chit-chats and lots more. Take rest for the day relaxing under the sky; watching stars.
Day 3 Sunday
05:00 am - Wake up, get fresh and have breakfast at the campsite
07:00 am - Start trekking towards Dehne in a cool pleasant morning to beat the heat.
09:30 am - Reach Dehne take some rest.
10:30 am - Move towards Asangaon in a private/public transport.
11:30 am - Catch Mumbai local from Asangaon railway station.
01:30 pm - Reach Mumbai with a promise to meet soon.

Nature was at its best, that feeling of walking on waterfalls nd feeling of thunderstorms were awesome, though we couldn't trek throughout the valley bcs of level of water nd couldn't do repelling still it was worth it, service was very nice nd they were really cooperative nd friendly... If you are planning to visit the place then don't visit during heavy rain days or during early morning bcs too much fogg obstructs the view

Sandhan valley trek.. 27th oct -28th oct 2018 If you have never been to an trek.. These are the guys you go with ..Fun filled and safe. Went to trek with couple of friends both girls and boys and had a blast on the trek.. The trek leader Sagar is very friendly, showed us all the rapelling techniques prior.. Sagar's safety precaution was the best.. Gave us timely food and rest.. Comming to the fun part.. Had volunteers trio.. Akhilesh, Ankit and Pratik.. They are the best people to be around with.. They are funny, helped out amateurs like me throughout the trek.. Always had funny exeperiences in handy from their trek to keep us entertained.. Made lot of new friends and had lots of fun.. Will i ever trek again?..Yes.. With these 4 guys?.. DEFINITELY.

Trek to sandhan valley was a great experience overall (although it was quite challenging) . it has trekking, rappelling, water crossing, all of it in a single trek!!! This makes sandhan valley a special place to boost your adrenaline compared to other destinations, need not be necessary that you've to be pro to manoeuvre the valley, a complete rookie can make it through if you follow the team leaders. The group having the best leaders who become your best pals make it a cakewalk for a beginner only if you follow the instructions. Just to let you know the sweat and challenges are frugal compared to the satisfying beauty of the gorge.

Beautiful trek..prior experience in trekking needed. This trek demands good fitness, training. If this is your first trek still you can do it as people who arrange these trips are very much experienced. They can assist you if you are facing problem. Suggestion: HELMET should be provided to each participants to protect them from falling stones.

Similar to Mumbai, one can take a train or state transport bus from Pune to Igatpuri. From there, there are lots of private vehicles available to reach Samrad village.
Here, tourists generally go for jeep travel by sharing the amount (Shared jeeps has cost Rs. 50/- per head). After arriving at Samrad village, you need to go by a private vehicle and reach the Sandhan Valley. If you’re planning for Sandhan Valley Trek, it is better to check with the locals whether it is good to go.

In this trek, mobile connectivity is quite poor. In some places alone, you can find some signal that too in a different network. For instance, if you’re using Airtel, your mobile will show BSNL. As long as the place is located far away from the city, there is less chance for mobile connectivity.
Smoking and drinking alcohol are strictly forbidden on this trek. Due to safety reasons for both male and female, the travel guides allows no one to carry or consume alcohol. Moreover, the location is slippery at some places which might lead to serious injuries if one fell down beyond his control.

-You can take a train to Igatpuri or Kasara from Mumbai which takes around 2 hours 45 minutes to reach Kasara. The distance between Kasara Railway station and Samrad Village (the base of Sandhan Valley trek) is approximately 80 kilometres.
-You can hire a taxi for a jeep from Kasara to reach Samrad. If you are looking for some more thrilling experience you can book a self-drive car and drive down to reach Samrat village from Mumbai.
-If you are travelling by air, you can take private cabs or a taxi from the Mumbai International Airport to reach Samrad Village via Igatpuri.
-There are a number of State transport buses from both Mumbai and Pune up to Bhandardara. From there you can take a private cab or a jeep and reach Samrad Village base. The rest of the distance you will have to trek till the summit of Sandhan Valley.
From Igatpuri, there are local buses plying to and fro Samrad Village which is the base of Sandhan Valley trek. If you are travelling by an ST bus, you have to take note of its departure time beforehand to reach the base early in the morning for starting your trek.
However, the most convenient way to reach the Sandhan Valley is by hiring a private vehicle as the place is a bit secluded from the main road and getting public transport may be a bit inconvenient.
Once you reach the Samrad Village, it is essential to take the help of a local guide who could guide you with the trek route, make food arrangements, assist you with rappelling and bring you safely to the base. Trekking without a guide may be risky and dangerous and it may lead you to face hazards during your trek.
Yes, December is the best time for Sandhan Valley trek. The route remains closed during monsoon and opens up in November. The natural pools will have waist-deep water during this time making it easier for trekkers to cross and make their way through them.
