By Bus:You can take the KSRTC bus, which runs frequently to either Chikballapur or Nandi hills. If you choose the Chikballapur bus, then you need to take another bus from the Chikballapur bus stand to Dodballapur and get down at Nandi village. Although, direct bus to Nandi hills is the most preferred option, as it takes you directly to the Nandi Village, which is a few minutes walk away from the base point of the Channagiri hill.
By train:
Take the Dodballapur passenger train from the Bangalore city railway station, which drops at the Nandi Grama station. From the railway station, you can hire an auto or a cab to reach the Nandi village.
