How to reach the campsite?

You have to report at Bhagsu Nag Taxi Stand which is the starting point of the trek and it is around 3 km from Mcleodganj. Many local transports and private cabs are available from Mcleodganj to reach Bhagsu Nag.

Note: If the snow at the top of base camp is beyond the operator's control, the camping for the day will be organized in Dharamkot instead.

It is one of the popular treks, which leads to the Zanskar Valley. The trek takes one through the many Zanskar villages and various monasteries there in. A slow ascent up to the pass and then a steep descent to the Tsarap River brings one right into the heart of the Zanskar. The trail follows the river most of the way.

We will drive from New Delhi to the lush and exotic Kullu Valley crossing the Rohtang Pass to reach the start of the trek at Darcha. Towards the western end of the Himalayas a series of continuous mountain ridges, comprising scores of 6000m (20000 foot) peaks forms an effective barrier between the Indian provinces of Lahaul and Ladakh. Linking these contrasting mountainous regions is a Ladakh trekking route that provides one of the great challenges of the Indian Himalayan Treks.

We head north across the Shingo La into the ancient kingdom of Zanskar which is famous for its hardy inhabitants and starkly beautiful landscape. On the way one can encounter a row of isolated villages and numerous wonderful Buddhist monasteries, notably at Phuktal, Lingshet and Lamayuru. As a finale to what is unquestionably one of the world's most classic Indian trekking experiences, one can also plan to explore the fascinating and legendary Ladakhi capital of Leh.

The duration of trek from Brandy Nalla to Hemis is about 13 days. The best time to do this trek is from mid June to End of September. The journey begins at Manali where we drive through Sarchu. We cross the Baralacha Pass and camp at Brandy Nalla, the start of this trek. The next place we trek to is Jukta, a short leisure trek which will help us in acclimatizing.

From Jukta we move to Morang la, the highest point in the trek. The trek is moderate. We follow the Bans river and arrive at the camping base. From Morang La base we take a steep climb and reach Morang La (5300 ft). The trek from here onwards is an easy down hill climb until the Lun valley. From Lun we trek to Lungmo Che at 4000 mt. En route this place it is likely to encounter nomadic groups.

From Lungmo Che we go to Yar La and from there we arrive at Dat. Sorra is the next stop. On the way we will visit the Gelukpa monastery at Dat village. A short trek from here and we arrive at the mid camp called Zalung Karpo La. The next morning we leave for Langtan Chu. The trek takes 7-8 hours. Next day again start the trek to Nimaling. To reach there we cross two ridges. Spend an entire day lazing around in Nimaling. From Nimaling we will go to Kangmarula and then to Chogdo.

Next day trek until we reach Shang and then drive to Hemis monastery. After visitng Hemis, drive to Leh and return back home.

After Langza, our voyage will pause at Mulchey, which means Battle Chief. It is a village surrounded by numbers of attractive elements. Next we will take you to Saglung and Lhalung. Friendship Peak is a majestic mountain, situated at Pir Panjal range, in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. This mountain, covered with snow, is perched at an altitude of 5,289 m above the sea level. The best route to access this peak is through Dhundi and Beas Kund. The ideal time to climb this peak is from May to June and September to October. Kullu Manali Airport and Joginder Nagar Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station.

About the Kanamo Peak:

Well maintained alpine tents with common washrooms are provided for stay at Malana camping, each having beds, seating area. For a comfortable stay, you will be offered mattresses, pillows, and clean linen. The campsite is equipped with all the basic amenities like power backup, housekeeping, room service, etc.

During the afternoon time, one can go for a short trek and some of the nearby places around the campsite. The evening can be mostly spent with the fellow campers at the common lounge area along with music and bonfire. After spending the evening at this awe-inspiring location dinner would be served. How to Reach the Campsite for Malana Camping?

The campsite is around 40 km away from the Bhuntar Bus Stand. Either public or private transportation can be availed to reach the location.

The campsite lies at a height of 3500 m above the sea level. Lahesh Cave is a 12 km trek from the McLeod Ganj Bus Stop. Lahesh Caves are a beautiful sight that is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh on the way to Indrahar Pass and are surrounded by many towering and magnanimous peaks of the Himalayas.

With this camping experience, you will be staying at these caves which are sometimes used by the shepherds, while engaging in various other adventurous activities. You can expect a walk of around 4-5 hours per day during the trek. Trek on to the Triund mountains and the snow line going through the forests of oak, deodar, pine, oak and fir and then onwards to the stunning sight of the snow line. Enjoy staying in the tents under the stars. Admire the beautiful sunrise and spend some peaceful time. See the beautiful Bhagsu Nag Temple as well as a beautiful waterfall on your way down from the caves.

About Lamadugh Trek:
This day trek to the meadow of Lamadugh starts with your arrival at the meeting point in the Old Manali. You will then start the trek and climb through thick forests of Pine and Deodar to reach your destination. The trek offers majestic views of the many high mountains of the Himalayas that surround the valley like Indrasan, Deo Tibba and the peaks of Bara Shigri glacier.

To enter Lamadugh, you will have to walk on the ridge, the place will open up to this green heaven of a meadow dotted by just one hut and with a variety of flowers. Spend some time here and have your packed lunch, before climbing back down to reach Manali base camp and enjoy overnight camping over there.
