About Deo Tibba Trek:

The Deo Tibba Trek offers a great view of the snow-clad peaks of Deo Tibba (6001m) and Indrasan (6220m) along with the glaciers of Jagatsukh and Deo Tibba. If the idea of trekking to Deo Tibba brings out the vision of scenic mountains and lush meadows and beautiful peaks.

Chikka, Seri, Tainta, and mini Chandra Tal are the scenic destinations of your trek which give you ample time to observe the purest form of nature abundant with alpine flowers, the glimpses of the famous peaks, the rivulets, and the popular Ravi River. How to Reach Manali :

By Air

There is no airport in Manali, but the closest airport is Bhuntar in Kullu, which is 50 km away from Manali. Air India flights operate between Kullu and Delhi, however, these are irregular and very expensive. From Chandigarh, Himalayan Bulls offer flights to Kullu airport.

By Train

The closest train station to Manali is Ambala Cantt, which is 200 km away. Another option is to get a train to Chandigarh, which is 250 km away. Ambala Cantt is on the Delhi Amritsar route.

By Road

The Himachal Pradesh state bus service is ace and one can get frequent buses from the region to different parts of the country at a reasonable cost. The best and most cost-effective way to reach Manali is by road. Roads connect Manali to different places including Delhi (540km), Chandigarh (305km), Dehradun (227km), and Ambala (370km). There are several private buses as well that connect the hill station with different parts of the state.

Deo Tibba Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Drive from Manali to Khanol Village and start trek to Chikka
  • The Deo Tibba Base Camp trek originates from Khanol and after reaching Manali in the morning.
  • Get a drive straightaway to Khanol village, the starting point of the trek.
  • The trekking route is filled with different types of berries and flowers.
  • It takes 6-7 hours to reach Chikka which takes a shape of a snake.
  • The views of Deo Tibba and Indrasaan peaks and the Spiti valley are the glorious welcome gifts for you.
  • The view opens up at Chikka which provides one of the best camping site boasts of Nag Mandir.
  • Check into your camps for the night stay.
Day 2
Trek from Chikka to Seri
  • Start trekking along the bank of the Jagatsukh nallah and enter the incandescent forests which would give away the paths to a striking landscape strewn with boulders and a carpet of velvety grass and colourful wildflowers.
  • Leaving the tree-line behind, ascend to the meadows of Seri.
  • Seri was once a glaciated lake but now it is a beautiful large meadow drained with icy rivulets and studded with an astounding variety of herbs and wildflowers with the gorgeous Tainta waterfall looming in the background.
  • Stay overnight at the campsite.
Day 3
Trek from Seri to Tainta
  • Begin walking across the flat meadow, and wading through streams that feed the Jagatsukh nallah.
  • Get ready for a steep climb through boulders that will lead you to a moraine field and get the first views of the massive Deo Tibba and Indrasan.
  • Today you will get enough time to relax and acclimatize.
  • Relax and stay overnight in the tents arranged.
Day 4
Trek from Tainta to Mini Chandratal and return to Tainta
  • After an uphill climb, across moraine fields, you will get to see a stunning emerald blue glacial lake that is mini Chandra Tal.
  • Hundreds of wildflowers adorn the shores of the lake.
  • All the way, the snow sheathed Deo Tibba sparkles against the sunny azure skies.
  • Watch the high altitude lake with emerald blue water will ask you to take one last stretch of steep climb.
  • Then you will return to Tainta later.
  • Stay overnight in your tents.
Day 5
Trek from Tainta to Chikka
  • Retrace your way back passing through Seri and take a halt at Dudu Pathar for lunch.
  • The descend is easy and will take around 4 hours to reach.
  • Stay overnight in the tents.
Day 6
Trek to Khanol Village and drive to Manali
  • Drive back to Manali via Prini.
  • If you wish, you can spend more time at Solang valley and indulge in some adventure activities like paragliding, zorbing, and many more (At an extra cost).
  • Arrive at Manali by afternoon.
  • Take some time out for a stroll around at the local market or one can opt for leisurely individual activities and then depart onwards to your destination back home.

Know Before You Go for Deo Tibba Trek

  • Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
