About the Destination:

Climb up a trek to the Mt Kanamo Peak! Short in nature, it is one of the ideal ways to enjoy a 6,000m experience of trekking in India. The Kanamo Peak trek trail opens up many splendours of the mighty Himalayas. Adding to the entire experience is the trekking experience to mesmeric Chandratal and camping by the water body. A challenging trek in terms of altitude. Vast dry landscape views right from the start after Kibber. The wind blows continuously all the way till the base camp. The peak appears for the first time while crossing a small lake approaching the base camp and looks unbelievable to climb from the first look. Bright blue skies and vast ranges of mountains always in the view. Not many sources of fresh water in the way. The real challenge and beauty begins at the second day when you approach the summit. The air becomes super thin and snow covered peaks are right in front of you. The beauty in the serenity is beyond words and the villages of Spiti look microscopic as you approach the 5500m altitude level. The last ascend of 500m is quite difficult and you need to focus on breathing most of the times. The top has a view of 360 degrees of the mountain ranges of Spiti and Ladakh. It would be like a dream world for first timers. It started to snow as we approached the peak (mid July). Could not stay more than 10-15 mins at the top as the air was very thin. A different world all together at the top, hard to put in words.

got to see the magical views of Ladakh, Kinnaur and Kullu when we were on this trek with our friends and family! It was a truly amazing experience. The weather tends to get too cold at night so make sure you are well suited up for the trek. Wear several layers and the right type of shoes for this trek!

One of the 6,000 meter experience of trekking in India is the Kanamo peak trek. The overall experience was very enjoyable. The place is sheer brilliance and only real eyes can capture such beauty and everyone should experience this once in their lifetime. The trek was quite tedious as the path isn’t that clean trail, but with some basic preparation beforehand you can trek comfortably.

The trekking experience is sheer brilliance. I have no words to describe how good it was to actually take that trek. I am glad that I actually took the trek. The trek leader was experienced and very friendly. Overall, I had a very nice and knowledgeable trek. However, it could have been organized in a even better manner.

Interesting trek: This is one trek that I found very interesting and amusing. The trek leacer and co trekkers were all so friendly, motivating, and helpful. It was a true camp spirit and I am glad to have been part of this wonderful trek. The food was a bit lousy, but otherwise no complaints on the trek. Also, the deal rates are pretty friendly for every traveler.
