Traveller Tales From Chikmagalur

It really matters what you are expecting from the spot. Best time is go just after rainy season to enjoy fog & green carpet over the mountain. Good trekking area. We saw few peacocks crossing road and went into shrubs. We still regret that we could not trek to peak; due to chilled weather and we didn’t equipped for the trek also. Trekking through secluded villages, evergreen forest teeming with waterfalls and streams and open grassland patches was a once in life time experience.

Kudremukh Trekking Trail, Chikmagalur is one of the best and the nice treks that you can take in Karnataka. The Kudremukh Trek is amazing and spell bounding. The whole Chikmagalur is a paradise for nature loves and travellers. You will definitely love the place here and the awesome climate. It is also very close to Bangalore. If you are in South of India, then the travel time is also less and the cost of travel is also cheap. We took our honeymoon here where we did estate stay for 2 days, this trek, and jungle stay for a night. It was a week full of fun. It was the best vacation ever. Also, this is a great honeymoon spot.

Mallaynagiri hills are beautiful, just no further words to describe the immense beauty of the region. There is a temple of Lord Shiva also located at the summit point, during some festival this site is very much visited by local worshippers. On reaching the peak point you can actually spot the entire western ghat range. Many trekkers set up the camps in the peak point jut to see the sunrise and sunsets.

Chikmagalur is a very beautiful town and it is just a heaven on earth. Visiting this place has been there in my list of travel things to do, all along. However, we were not sure on how to do it. While we wanted a relaxed getaway too as well as sightsee Chikmagalur, we had a tough time planning. That’s when we came across one day sightseeing thing and we were so excited. It is the best thing that is available at this budget. Also, it feels well organized and executed. This literally covers every important part of Chikmagalur.

The trekking enthusiast in you will want to dive right into this trek to the highest peak in South India. Me and a couple of my friends tried this and it was invigorating to state the least. the trek was strenuous but equally fun and the chance to witness gorgeous nature amongst us was amazing. I and my wife went to Chikmagalur on a weekend and chose to stay at the coffee plantation by booking this package through Thrillophilia. We got an immediate confirmation from them and organized the trip so well. The local tour guide was very friendly and gave us time to explore the region on our own. Trekking to Kudremukh was our wish and we have done that too there. Overall atmosphere was really nice. Morning time was very rough since the mist cover was huge. But the stay arranged was really nice and the rooms were also spacious. It was well maintained and cleaned properly.

we booked this homestay in Chikmagalur. 90 acre property it is. I should say thanks to all of the people at the homestay especially the caretaker who was staying near the house. My kids were also with us. They were really enjoying the stay since there is a great space outside to play. They served us traditional food for breakfast while for lunch they served us North Indian food. It is a great place to see some rare birds as well. In short, it was a great trip to me and my family with some amazing sightseeing as well.
