What You Should Know More About Things To Do in Madikeri
Lush waterfalls located 1 Km from Madikeri. The falls are encircled by delightful coffee estates and spice plantations. The hanging bridge here offers a bounteous view of the falls.
This is a small area surrounded by a garden. Watching the mesmeric sunset among the mystical mountains in the background is truly a treat.
The original fort was made of mud, but was later renovated with brick and mortar. It features a prison chamber, a small museum and a chapel.

The Pushpagiri Trek with camping is a popular choice among adventure tourists. Nestled in the lap of the Western ghats, this area provides the onlooker sweeping views of the scenery.
Jeep safaris through the fields and valleys of Mandalpatti and to Mallalli waterfalls are also quite thrilling. You can enjoy a soothing view of the setting set at Mandalpatti.
Quad biking is a highly exhilarating adventure activity offered at the elephant camp in Coorg.
Not exactly an adventure activity, but close, the Dubare elephant camp is a nature-lover’s delight. Visitors can watch, feed and ride elephants here.
Quad biking is offered at Chelavara, Coorg, in its fresh and salubrious atmosphere. 250 cc machines run in a 3000 m circuit off the beaten path, which meanders through the dense forests. The bikes are automatic and hence quad biking is a pretty lay activity. All you will need is some safety gear.
Quad biking will cost Rs. 900-1000 per head.

Misty hills, foggy skies and fresh air. Soak in nature, at the Pushpagiri Peak. It’s an ideal escape into the wilderness, far from the madding crowd.
Enjoy a picture-perfect view of the mountains and lush greenery. You can also trek through the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary and witness majestic elephants at play!
Enjoy a rainforest camp in the dense forests of Coorg by the Barapole River. Go to sleep while listening to the cooing of the birds ready for their repose and wake up to the same animals chirping to welcome the morning!

The most adventurous places for trekking in Madikeri include Chelavara Falls, Brahmagiri Hills, Pushpagiri Peak, Dubare Elephant Camp, Tadiandamol Peak, Chomakund and Karkette. All these treks rank high on the adventure and nature front and most often culminate in night camps.
Mandalpatti and Mallalli waterfalls are ideal destinations for jeep safaris in Madikeri.
A jeep ride through the tallest water cascade in the area, is an adrenalizing experience. You get to drive past the Kumaradhara River and Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary.
This top view point in Coorg is known for its scenery, its winding roads and foggy skies.
Whitewater rafting in Madikeri is available at Barapole River. Also known as Kaathu Kaathu, this river is ideal for rafting. You can take part in this watersport for 1-2 hours between 9 am to 3 pm. The first stretch of rapids is called Morning Coffee. These lead to class 3-5 rapids, namely Grasshopper, Wicked Witch and Big Bang, before entering Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary.
Charges are: Rs. 1099 per person.
The best fishing spot in Madikeri is at Valnur village, whose Cauvery waters are known for Mahseer fish. Honnamana Kere, is a serene lake which offers good catch. In addition to Valnur, Doddamakali, Galibore and Bheemeshwari are popular spots. Angling and fishing at Valnur follows the catch and release principle-Every catch has to be returned to the waters as a part of pisci-conservation.
November to April is the best season for angling.
