This five-day tour is an extravaganza for the people who are still not aware of the beauty of the Northeast. Thrillophilia, you guys really did an incredible job in making my plan possible.
I spent plenty of time in the Garbh grah of Kamkhya temple complex, it was such a divine experience. I wish to go again!
“Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high,” is the song totally fit Cherrapunji and Shillong. It was a romantic journey of six days that I am going to cherish it forever. Picked up from the Guwahati airport, we travelled from Mumbai so the journey was a bit tiring plus the fatigue which comes with all the ceremonies were killing us so we weren’t that active on day one. The hotel room was decorated, clean and had this amazing fragrance- It actually felt like that the honeymoon is something really special. Our love for each other grew even more on this trip. We even spotted a rainbow when visiting Nohkalikai falls. What a lovely time we had, totally recommend this one!
The list of places we visited on this tour from the great man-made lake Umiam to the highest fall of the region- Nohkalikai Falls, and Seven Sisters Falls etc were all beautiful and kept us rooted to the sight for quite some time. The romance is in the air in Cherrapunji and Shillong. mawlynnong village is one of the interesting and an impressive place. We loved the entire experience, right from the easy booking process to the well-versed guide and a comprehensive plan. Too good!
The best way to experience nature’s beauty with comfort is with this tour. Surely recommend if you are planning a short honeymoon. In just six days, the tour threw moments which words can’t express. Our guide was so supportive and well-behaved that our slow crawl to the Nohkalikai viewpoint became easy. Cherrapunji is really a pretty place, no wonder it is the wettest place in India. Our tour was brimming with nature.
My story with Thrillophilla starts with having seen the 1st link of it while searching for tour to Meghalaya on Google. I liked the name so clicked the link. Having a rough overlook I just filled a small detail part. Then having a talk with Amanpreet Kaur di she just took the whole journey ahead... First of all thanks to her for making it a success :) Kudos to her!! She is understandable and frank.. Doesn't get irritated on questioning, helpful and sweet, though sometimes a bit late at some things as she forgets coz she says she was busy but she manages that afterwards :)
The driver bhaiya -Jon Jyoti started my journey through airport n till I was safely dropped at railway station. He is professional and a nice person. He tried his best to make us comfortable and enjoy the journey.
The arrangements made for me by Thrillophilla n tour operator were nice and apprecible. Though at some places inconveniences happened bt at the same time nothing is perfect, those were manageable so overall it was Ok.
Importantly, I was a bit worried about my parents comfort but they enjoyed their journey...If car accomdation a bit more spacious it would have lit a fire to the journey though it was not bad too. For everything I m really really thankful to you... Will look forward sure to have you in my future journeys!! :) :)
Our tour started with a sightseeing expedition in Guwahati itself. Visited Umananda and Kamakhya temple, also saw the magnificent Brahmaputra river. Be prepared to bear a crazy rush in the temples, especially when you are visiting in season. Then we headed for Shillong and took a halt at the Umiam lake viewpoint, was a decent man-made lake. We clicked some pictures and started our journey again. Stayed in Shillong for day one. Nice hotel, good facilities. Next morning, we traverse across the town visiting a few parks, museums, markets and churches. The third day was really exciting, the twisty and vegetation laden hilly turns took us to Cherrapunji. Amazing location. Enroute, we also spotted Elephant fall and Shillong peak. Went to Nohkalikai falls on the same day along with Mawsmai caves and Krem falls. The hotel we stayed in had a wonderful view of the valley. Next day we started for the famous Mawlynnong and Dawki villages, was completely mind blown to be in these locations. It was worth every penny I spent on this tour.
No words to describe my time in the Northeast. Cherrapunji is love, no matter whenever you visit this place, it always looks green and prospering. The villages Dawki and Mawlynnong were my personal favourite on this trip. Keep extra clothes for the adventure you will be getting in near many waterfalls, and rivers of Shillong and Meghalaya. My mother loved visiting the Kamakhya temple for the first time and being a Bengali, she was so impressed by the temple and the story associated with the making of this temple
Nohkalikai fall was hidden by clouds so even after spending almost an hour at the spot, we couldn’t see it properly. The other waterfalls on this tour like Elephant fall and Krem fall are to die for. The pools at the bottom of these falls are so attractive, blue and clear water lures you into throwing yourself into one. We had a great time touring with Sounak who was our driver and also the guide. I would like to rate this adventure full because I am truly satisfied with everything provided on this trip.
It turned out to be a great trip. Visited a lot many places, hotels were fancy and comfortable, the food provided on this tour was more of NorthIndian, I actually was looking forward to eating some local dishes which I did by myself and in doing so, my guide was a big help who introduced me to the best local corners for food exploration. All in all, it is a must-do trip. Go for it.
