What You Should Know More About Trekking in Dharamshala
April-June: The weather in summers here is pleasant and cool during the summer months. The temperature varies between 22-35 degrees. Trekking during this time is an activity to do as the trek and weather are both favourable. You can visit various places in Dharamshala during this period of time.
July-September: The rainy season makes the place difficult for trekking. It is not advisable to trek during these months.
October-March: The temperature starts dropping rapidly and by December, we can expect the negative temperature. The place become a scenic marvel and snowfall begins from December. Trekking can be done, but one should take care of the weather as it is freezing for most of the times.
By Air: The nearest airport to Dharamshala is at Gaggal. It is 13 kms from Dharamshala. People can book flights from Delhi till here. Alternatively, you can also book flight till Chandigarh and a taxi from there till Dharamshala. The distance between the two is around 250 kms.
By Train: The best way to reach Dharamshala via train is to take a train till Pathankot which is at a distance of around 85 kms from Dharamshala. From Pathankot, you can take a cab to reach Dharamshala.
By Road: Depending on the source of your journey, there are numerous ways to reach Dharamshala. These ways include by bus, by taxi or even by self drive.
