The Aadi Himani Chamunda Trek is one of the most breathtaking treks in Himachal Pradesh. With the Aadi Himani Chamunda Temple being the most famous attraction of the trekking. The trail is quite popular among devotees. The fables weaved by the locals for the presence of the temple are intriguing.
As per local myths, Goddess Chamunda delivered the killing blow to two demons – Mund and Chand. Chamunda killed them from the mountain top by throwing massive boulders in their direction. It is believed that one of these boulders can still be seen atop the Shiva Temple, which is situated close to the already-present Chamunda Devi Temple, along the scenic Dharamshala Palampur state highway.

The gradient of the Aadi Himani Chamunda Trek is moderately difficult. Apart from the ethereal beauty of nature around, the trek involves a relentless climb. The most relieving aspect is that the trail is well-defined and even partially paved.
When you are making the ascent, you will realize that the trek is not too hard and does not have any sudden drops. The slopes are relatively gentle and do not require technical skills to cross the path, making it an ideal attempt for even first-timers.

There are two definite routes that you can opt for the trek. If you truly want to explore the gorgeous scenic views, then you can opt for the off-beaten path near the Jia Village. Another route is via Jadrangal, which is often adopted by the pilgrims.
