Talakaveri is located in the district of Kodagu, which is the place of the origination of river Kaveri.

Brahmagiri is located here and Kaveri rises from a narrow spring.

Talakaveri is an important religious spot which houses temples of Agasthyeshwara and Lord Ganpathi.

On the October 17th, River Kaveri comes to greet its devotees and this very feat attracts thousands of devotes every year.

The fountainhead till date is a mystery and manages to attract quite a vast number.

For the spiritually inclined, this place is a great one to stop by and introspect.

There is a lingam of Shiva here which is rare and another of the temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh.

The tree of Ashwantha has a legend associated which says the three gods Vishnu, Brahma and Ganesh gave their blessings to Sage Agastya here.

Brahmagiri peak is quite nearby and is believed to have the Saptarishis perform their yagya here.

It is believed that anything one wishes for here comes true provided one promises to come back after the completion of the wish.

The best time to be here is anytime of the year.

Nagarhole National Park: This national park is a bio-sphere reserve. It is nestled in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, and is surrounded by shallow valleys and gentle slopes on all sides.

Nagarhole is blessed with some of the rare species of Indian Wildlife . It hosts a diverse variety of trees and shrubs, and animal life.

Over 250 species of birds have been recorded.

Cauvery Nishadhama: This is a beautiful 64-acre island created by River Cauvery. It is located 28 km from Madikeri, 2 km from Kushalanagar, and 11 km from Dubare camp.

The surrounding area consists of dense foliage of bamboo groves, sandalwood and teak trees.

The major attractions of Nishadhama are elephant rides and boating.

Elephant Camp: Dubare Elephant Camp is a project undertaken by forest department and jungle lodges and resorts.

The camp is located at the edge of Dubare forest, and houses an incredible number of trained elephants.

Harangi Dam Site: The dam is located 36 km from Madikeri. The beautiful reservoir is a perfect spot for arranging picnics.

The dam has been built across Cauvery River.

Iruppu Waterfalls: It rise from the Brahmagiri and are as high as 52 meters. The majestic waterfalls splash across the forested area making the surroundings beautiful and marvelous.

On the mountain of Brahmagiri is located the wildlife sanctuary by the same name.
