About the Destination:
One of the most scenic and evergreen wildlife sanctuaries in Karnataka, the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary in Somwarpet, Coorg, is an ideal destination for the nature lovers. Home to some of the rare and endangered birds in the vicinity, this wildlife protected area is also acclaimed throughout the world for its rich and diverse avifauna range. Tucked away between Bisle Reserve Forest and the Kukke Subramanya Ranges, this sanctuary is also the abode of the fascinating Pushapgiri Peak, which is the highest peak in this region and the Kumaraparvat (or Kumaraparvatha).
Be it for the nature lovers, or the adventure junkies visiting Coorg, this wildlife area serves as an enticing host! With its myriad list of flora and fauna like Albizialebbeck, Artocarpuslakoocha, Dysoxylummalabaricum and Mesuaferrea, Indian Wild Dog, Brown Palm Civet, Indian Giant Squirrel, Indian Hare, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Indian Muntjac, Gaur, Asian Elephant, Wild Pig, Giant Flying Squirrel, Travancore Flying and several others, the sanctuary proves to be treasure trove for almost all types of visitors.
About the Activity:
Arriving at the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary by around 08:30AM, you will be briefed about the tour in details. After the briefing session, fill up the mandatory form and get prepared for an enthralling Pushpagiri wildlife trek!
Starting the trek by around 09:00AM, hike through the lush and scenic trails, witness the immaculate beauty of the sanctuary and get ample of opportunities to have an encounter with the inhabitants of the sanctuary. The 14km trek to the Pushpagiri Peak will take you around 4-5 hours.
Hiking up to the peak, witness and enjoy the astounding views and get soaked with all the different colours of the Mother Nature. Spending quiet and pleasant moments at the peak, start trekking back to the base.
Arriving at the base at around 03:00PM, enjoy a filling lunch and relax for a while. Post this, depart the site and continue with your onward journey.

About the Activity:
- Embark on this mesmerising trek to the third tallest peak in the western ghats of Karnataka, Kumara Parvatha which is also known as Pushpagiri, it is at a height of 1712 meters.
- It is one of the most beautiful peaks in the whole western ghats with the peak almost always shrouded in cloud. Stride through the trekking path that goes through lush green dense shola forest, open grasslands covered with thick green grass and steep rock faces.
- Start your journey from Bangalore at 10:00 PM, meet your fellow travellers and enjoy the overnight journey. Early morning, you will reach Kukke, the bewitching pilgrim town.
- Enjoy a traditional breakfast and head out to start the trek through the dense Pushpagiri forest range.
- You will have your lunch after your reach Battaramane following a steep climb through the jungle.
- Take proper rest under the tree shad, wait for the sunset since it is really a scintillating beauty that will be followed by a campfire on the top. Share your experience with the team mates, play games too.
- Next day, after your breakfast, start trekking through the toughest path which contains steep slopes and open grasslands. Enjoy the ravishing beauty of Sesha Parvatha which has vertical cliffs.
- Continue trekking through a small forest to reach Kumara Parvatha peak and head back to Battaramane for lunch and descend to Kukke where you will be reaching by late evening. Vsiit a nearby temple and relax.
- Post dinner, you will leave for Bangalore and wind up the tour after you reach Bangalore early morning.
