How To Reach
By Air: The nearest airport to Komik is the Bhuntar Airport, also known as Kullu Manali Airport. It is located in Bhuntar in Kullu district. It is approximately 252.6 kilometres away from Komik. From here, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Kaza (232.4 kilometres), which is the nearest town to Komik. This journey will take around 5 to 7 hours. From Kaza, you can hire a taxi or shared transportation to Komik. This journey of 23.1 kilometres will take around 45 minutes to an hour.
By Road: Komik is well-connected to Manali and Shimla via Kaza through NH505. The route from Manali to Kaza covers a distance of approximately 183.1 kilometres in about 5 to 7 hours. It also takes you through high mountain passes like Rohtang Pass and Kunzum Pass. This route is generally open from June to October.
Alternatively, you can travel from Shimla to Kaza via the Hindustan-Tibet Highway. This is a longer route, approximately 418.5 kilometres. This route is open throughout the year, taking around 12 to 14 hours. Upon reaching Kaza, a local taxi or a bike can be rented to travel the 23.1 kilometres to Komik, which takes about 1 to 2 hours.
You can make the journey by car or bus. HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) operates bus services from Manali and Shimla to Kaza. From Kaza, you might find occasional local buses or shared taxis going to Komik. However, these are less frequent. Therefore, it is advisable to arrange a private taxi for the final leg of the journey to Komik.
By Train: The nearest railway station to Komik is the Joginder Nagar Railway Station. It is 368.4 kilometres from Komik. From the station, you can take a direct taxi to Komik, which will take 10 to 12 hours. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or bus to Kaza, and then transfer to Komik.
