Wat Tham Sua

If you are in search of spiritual experience in Thailand, The Tiger Cave Temple aka Wat Tham Sua is one place you must visit. Surrounded by the stunning natural surroundings and located close to Krabi town, the temple is one of the finest natural wonders of Thailand and deserves your visit.

The temple has various natural caves, which are formed within the beautiful jungles and are home to numerous monks. With lots of things to see here, the major attraction is the ‘footprint of the Buddha.

Highlights
: ’ Reaching to the top of the Temple Cave is not an easy task. You have to climb 1,237 steps up to the limestone tower, which is daunting, especially in the Thai climate. Reaching the top, you can witness the panoramic 360-degree views of the tropical islands, limestone cliff formations, the Andaman Sea and rainforests.

Getting There: The Tiger cave temple is just three km from the Krabi town and can be reached via a mini-bus, taxi or tuk-tuk.

Jum Island or Phu Island

Based close to Krabi and Ko Lanta Yai, the less known Arabian island Ko Jum, also known as Ko Phu Island, strikes a perfect balance of long stretched sandy beaches, splendid sun, thinning crowds and laid back relaxing ambience. The silky coral sand and the transparent aquamarine water encircle the west coast of Jum islands.

Though some areas are a little rocky the best part is there are plenty of swimmable patches. The wide beeches beautified by casuarinas trees are an ideal location for all who love the peacefulness and the music of nature and seeks to find solace away from the party crowd.

There are quite a few budgeted hotels and upscale resorts with all essential facilities that guarantee a good and relaxing holiday experience. During peak season, there are regular boats to Krabi town and all the popular locations and islands around.

Location: 75km from Krabi

Bida Nok

Bida Nok Island is one of the most preferred dive sites in Phi Phi islands. This is one such place where diving can be done at all levels and it provides great entertainment to all who does it. A fascinating topography is visible underneath with abundant fish life that simply mesmerizes the divers.

Giant moray eels, turtles, schools of snapper, lionfish, hunting jackfish, barracuda, nudibranchs, sweetlips, and sea snakes are some of the fascinating underwater creatures visible here.
Soft corals, especially in the northeastern side, are a sight to enjoy.

The dive boats regularly visit Phi Phi every day of the week. The dive boats provide a 3 dive combo and it is only after considering the weather conditions, sea currents and safety they agree on the trip.

Koh Lanta Island

Stretching from Klong Dao on the northern side and Bamboo Bay on the southern, Koh Lanta is probably amongst the most favoured beaches in Thailand. The sheer size of the coastline is what attracts most beach bums to this stunning getaway.

For the adventurists, the popular places for diving are on the coasts of Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, and Ko Haa. Lanta is the pride and joy of Krabi and can be easily reached thanks to its relatively flat and accessible geology. The island is located in the Krabi province.

Highlights: Visit the Ban Saladan Tourist Centre, Khao Mai Kaew Caves, Visit Ko Lanta Noi and the Lanta Old Town, a diverse and culturally rich village.

Getting there:
There are no direct regular ferries from Phuket to Krabi although it is possible to charter a speedboat or similar transportation. Daily ferries operate between Phuket and Krabi via Phi Phi Island

There’s no admission fee to visit, although you will need to pay for your boat ride to reach the locality.

Highlights
: There are several caves inside Khao Khanap Nam with impressive clusters of stalactites and stalagmites to marvel at and explore. The mangrove forests surrounding Khao Khanap Nam also make this the perfect area for canoeing or renting a boat for a leisurely afternoon on the water.

Phra Nang Beach

Phra Nang beach is part of a small peninsula located between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang beach. Phra Nang beach is also beside Railay beach which is accessible only by boat due to the high limestone cliffs cutting off mainland access.

There is the famous "Princess Cave" or Tham Phra Nang Nok in Phra Nang beach. It is believed by local fishermen to be the home of a mythical sea princess.

Activities: Phra Nang beach is so spectacular that you can just lie there and soak in the sun. If you are adventurous it is possible to hike to the top of the headland to get spectacular views of the entire area. Swimming and snorkeling can also be enjoyed off this pristine, white sandy beach.

Known For: There is shrine built inside the limestone cave which is dedicated to an ancient fertility goddess.
