Planning a trip to Jim Corbett National park is very simple. You can do it by following these simple steps:

If your plan is to only explore the National Park, two days would be sufficient. However, if you wish to explore other scenic places around the Park such as Corbett Waterfall, Jim Corbett Museum, Garjiya Devi Temple, and Sitabani Wildlife Reserve, it is best to plan a trip for 4-5 days.
This will give you enough time to explore the National Park as well as other important attractions around it. If you have time, it would be wise to add two additional days and take a trip to Nainital.
Jim Corbett National Park can be visited throughout the year due to the temperate weather in the area. However, the most recommended time to visit is during winter i.e. between the months of November and February.
This is the best time to enjoy an opportunity to spot most of the animals inhabiting the area. Summer, though hot, isn’t so bad either.
Corbett National Park has five zones -Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, and Durga Devi. Of all these, Dhikala is considered to be the best zone as it is the biggest of all and is the only one of two zones that provide an opportunity to stay within the National Park.
The second famous zone that provides accommodation inside the national park is Bijrani. Dhikala zone also boasts of numerous flora and fauna species. It is also known to be the best zone for spotting tigers in their natural habitat. Other wild animals such as Spotted Deer, Wild Elephants, Hog Deer, and Wild Boars can also be recognised in the zone.
The beautiful hill station of Nainital is only 64 kilometres from Jim Corbett. There are no direct flights, trains, or buses on this route. However, you could easily get a taxi from Corbett to take you to the hill station.
While tiger spotting is a matter of chance and luck, travelling to the park during the winter season is highly recommended. Also, Dhikala and Bijrani are the best zones to go if you wish to see tigers in their natural habitat. If possible, stay within or very close to the park so you can have better chances of sighting the wild beasts.
Unfortunately, due to rules and regulations pertaining to the safety of visitors, private vehicles aren’t allowed inside the National park.

The Park remains open to tourists between the months of November to June. Jim Corbett is shut down during the monsoons. This is mainly because the rains wash away the roads inside the park and can pose great threat to visitors. The forest department rebuilds roads only after monsoon ends.
