About the destination:Snow treks are some of the most fascinating things to do in the Himalayas. And if you add to that some mystery and a certain aspect of mythology, the enthusiasm to complete the trek reaches new heights. That is what the trek to Om Parvat is about. Mythologically speaking, this place is considered to be one of the oldest abode of Lord Shiva. Related to the legend of Ravana, the peak is considered sacred by many, and the trek leads to an astounding view of the giant and the impression of 'OM' made on the facade by the snow. Located in the snowy Himalayas of the Kumaon region in Uttarakhand, the trek to Om Parvat starts and ends in Kathgodam, passing through many small towns and villages to finally arrive at the magnificent view of the Om Parvat. Rising to an altitude of 14816 ft, this peak is also referred to by several other names such as Adi Kailash, Chota Kailash, Baba Kailash, and Jonglingkong. When we saw the place online, we instantly fell in love, and knew we had to go there for a vacation! Fatema, the Thrillophilia agent handled all the booking arrangement and all we had to do was get to the place, which wasn’t difficult at all to find! Though the place was surrounded by nature, it still maintained the class of a luxury hotel, which is perfect for a comfort freak like me! The food, and the staff were also super friendly and helpful.

We had a very pleasant experience at this camp, right from the booking process, where Thrillophilia handled the entire process. The campsite was located on a hilltop and there was a beautiful lake in the vicinity, which we got to swim in. It was such a refreshing experience! The trek to the waterfall was also awesome, though a little difficult for a novice trekker like me, but I still did have a lot of fun.

You can pick up this trek if you are in the mood of mediocre level of difficulties during the trek. Plenty of good things on the way will keep you filled with excitement. Do not miss the sunrise views in any of the day. They will simply add more fun and excitement to your Om Parvat Trek. Also, make sure that you pack your backpack well and avoid carrying too much load. All the best folks!

We came here as a group of 4 college friends and we loved the entire trip! The mats and sleeping bags for the tents were all provided to us by the caretaker, Karan, and the stay was comfortable and spacious too, enough for 4 people. There was a basketball court where we spent some time and we also tried out some new things, like Rock climbing, which was an awesome experience.

Excellent
I went for this trek with my gal pals and had an amazing time in the snow covered mountains. The trek is quite difficult maybe because we were trekking for the first time. For a moment I though I can actually jump and touch Himalayas, they appear that close…I loved everything. I’m definitely going for this again sometime!
