Parco del Valentino Overview

The Parco del Valentino, sometimes called Valentino Park, is one of the well-liked open things to see in Turin. It may be found on the Po River's west bank. The Parco del Valentino also features botanical gardens, a replica of a medieval village, and paved pathways that were once a racetrack. Hop-on, hop-off bus routes pass through the Parco del Valentino, and the park is a popular pit station for leisurely cycle tours around Turin.

One of the oldest and most well-known places to visit in Turin is this park which is perfect for a relaxing respite in the greenery, thanks to its network of tree-lined walks and cycle tracks. The park's 550,000 square meters make it the "green lung" of Torino, and its major entrance is marked by Pietro Canonica's (Monumental Arch to the Artilleryman, 1930). For those wanting a peaceful getaway and more, Europe travel packages make exploring a breeze.

In the middle of the nineteenth century, landscape architect Barrilet-Deschamps created this park as a public amenity for the city's residents. Borgo Crimea's rowing clubs and other landmarks may be found on the other side of the Po. With an orangery, heated greenhouse, and herbarium-museum, the Orto Botanico (Botanical Garden), which is situated in the park, first opened in 1729, currently houses a collection of more than 4,000 kinds of native flora and medicinal plants.
