Skip the line is a great option. It is bit costly than actual ticket but it is worth it. Security checking queue for normal ticket was huge (around 1hr), due to this ticket we were able to enter the museum immediately without any queue.

Beat the enormous queues and pay just a little bit more. No availability on the Louvre website but thrillophilia thankfully had some and it was a great afternoon out!
