Kim Son Bao Thang Temple Overview

Kim Son Bao Thang Pagoda is a sacred place, a part of Bai Dinh Pagoda, located in the Ninh Binh Province of Vietnam. It is a beautiful structure perched on the top of a mountain at an elevation of 3091 meters. The complex includes the Tam Bao (Three-Treasure) Hall, an Ancestral Hall, and two rows of corridors known as Ta Vu and Huu Vu.

The Tam Bao Hall features five compartments facing a nearly 30-meter-wide courtyard. The roof's intricate decorations are crafted from wood or terracotta with copper enamel, inspired by the relics of the Thang Long Ancient Imperial Citadel. In the central part of the pagoda, numerous Buddha statues, reflecting the Northern Buddhism tradition, are displayed. These statues are masterpieces created by renowned Vietnamese sculptors. How To Reach

Kim Son Bao Thang Pagoda is a part of the Bai Dinh Pagoda complex, located in the Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam. It is about 95 km from Hanoi city.

1. By Car/Taxi: To reach the temple you can either rent a car or hire a cab and follow the National Route 1A south from Hanoi to Ninh Binh. From there follow the signs to Bai Dinh Pagoda. It is a 2 hour journey to the destination.

2. By Bus: There are plenty of buses that go to Ninh Binh from Hanoi. It is a 2 to 2 and a half hour journey by bus, and then you have to take a taxi to reach Bai Dinh Pagoda.

3. By Train: Take a train from the Hanoi Railway Station to Ninh Binh and after reaching the province, hire a taxi or local transport to Bai Dinh Pagoda.

The temple is open all year round, all days of the week from 7 AM to 10 PM.

2. Best Day of the Week: The best day to visit Kim Son Bao Thang Pagoda is typically a weekday, particularly Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. On weekdays, there are fewer crowds, a peaceful environment, and better photography opportunities, that will make your experience more pleasant.
