Manjarabad Fort

One of the unique forts in the country, Manjarabad Fort was built by Tipu Sultan and showcases the brilliance of Islamic architecture in India. It boasts of its interesting octagonal design with eight walls and attracts a number of visitors. 

Another unique feature of this fort is that has the only level in contrast to the general forts which are based on multiple levels. The aerial view of this fort offers a wonderful star-shaped appearance. Built as a frontier to store ammunition, Manjarabad Fort was used as a protection for Tipu Sultan’s army against the British.

It is one of the few sightseeing places in Sakleshpur that offers an unforgettable view of the Western Ghats. One can also be overwhelmed at the sight of Arabian Sea from this fort which is located at an elevation of about 3200 feet above sea level. 

Some of the other exciting things which tourists can spot here the numerous chambers built within the fort and the tunnel that leads to Srirangapatna Fort.

Sakleshwara Temple

Sakleshwara Temple is famous as one of the most prominent attractions in Sakleshpur and is a must visit for everyone. It is a beautiful temple that is stands as a testimony to the excellent craftsmanship of Hoysala architecture. 

Although it is smaller than the most temples of South India, Saklashwara Temple boasts of many things that include its architecture. Constructed between the 11th and 14th century, Sakalashwara Temple is a great remnant of the time when the Hoysala empire was at its peak in South India.

The temple offers a wonderful view as it is situated along the banks of River Hemavathi and has a gigantic statue of Lord Shiva that captures the eye of everyone. 

The temple is located at just the entrance of the city and offers a spiritual escape to everyone who visit. Interestingly, the temple is the place from where the city of Sakleshpur derives its name and a very renowned place for pilgrims in the region.

Kukke Subramanya Temple

Betta Byraveshwara Temple

Surrounded by serenity, Betta Byraveshwara Temple is one of the top places to visit in Sakleshpur. It is nestled in the beautiful Western Ghats and offers a panoramic view of the landscape for everyone.
