Eshwara Temple Overview

Built in the eleventh century, Eshwara Temple is a beautiful temple in Karnataka that can be found in Anekonda that is a quaint suburb of the city of Davanagare. The temple shows interesting glimpses of Hoysala architecture; however, one can’t help but wonder the peculiar similarities its design showcase with Chalukyan temple architecture and it is one of the best places to see in Sakleshpur.       

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was built with the help of mud and plaster originally. The temple now has been completely renovated and converted into a trikuta temple. 

In the garbha griha of Eshwara Temple, there is also an idol of Gajalakshmi while there also idols of other deities in smaller shrines like those of Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganesha, Lord Brahma and Lord Subramanya. The temple is a must visit for those who wish to explore more about the unique art and culture of this place.
