The outer wall depicts an unfinished statue of Lord Shiva holding a bow and Parvathi on either side. Tripurantaka's icon, with a crossbow in two of his four hands, his left foot resting on Apasmara, and an artistically carved and highly elaborate crown on his head, is a lovely example of 8th-century art

9. Halcyon Castle: Sri Rama Varma Valiya Koil Thampuran erected Halcyon Castle, popularly known as Napier Museum, as a summer residence in 1932. In 1964, Sri Rama Varma sold this palace to the Kerala government. Ravi Pillai, an NRI businessman, now runs Halcyon Castle, which has been turned into a 5-star luxury hotel.
