Dipor Bil, also known as Deepor Beel, is a freshwater lake and wetland located on the southwestern edge of Guwahati. Recognised as a Ramsar site, this ecologically important area is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including numerous migratory and resident bird species. Dipor Bil is one of the best places to visit in Assam for birdwatching enthusiasts and nature lovers. 

Visitors can also explore the surrounding forests and grasslands, making it an ideal destination for nature walks and photography. There is a watch tower inside the sanctuary, constructed by the forest department, and country boats are available for birdwatching on the lake. While Dipor Bil is famous for its over 200 bird species, it also harbours diverse aquatic and terrestrial species. The wetland is home to 20 amphibian species, 12 lizard species, 18 snake species, and 6 turtle and tortoise species.

By car/cab- From Guwahati, Dipor Bil is just a 17-minute drive away via the Garchuk - Pamohi Rd, approx 8 km, and you can easily hire a cab/auto or rental car to reach there.
