Museum of Islamic Art


Designed by noted architect I.M. Pei, Museum of Islamic art is one of the most famous tourist places in Doha. This iconic museum is located at the Corniche in the Qatari capital Doha. Behind the museum, there is a 290,000 m² park whereas inside the 5-storey museum you can find a gift shop, a library, classrooms, a 200-seat theatre and even prayer rooms. You can also dine in at the high class restaurant offering French cuisine inside the museum. Museum of Islamic art preserves metal work, ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, textiles and glass, dating back to 7th century. The museum has one of the world’s most varied collections of different and unique Islamic artifacts. Due to this reason, it sees a lot of tourists footfall every year.


The Pearl Qatar

The Pearl Qatar is an artificial island and the first land in Qatar available for freehold ownership by foreign nationals. It is situated near the coast towards the northern part of Doha. You can take a look at high end car showrooms like Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Maserati and Ferrari out here. Walk around the Porto Arabia marina to spot royal cruise boats. The Pearl Qatar is a great place to shop for designer clothes too. It is one of the most beautiful place to visit in the city of Doha.


Souq Waqif

Souq Waqif is a beautiful Arabic market that is definitely worth a visit. The market is popularly known for selling traditional garments, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs. There are many restaurants and Shisha lounges where you can sit down to smoke a sheesha. Souq Waqif is known to host various events, local concerts and spring festival. You can also take part in various other activities like theatricals, acrobatics and musical performances. Al Zubara Fort

A historic Qatari military fortress built under the reign of Sheikh Abdullah bin Qassim Al Than, Al Zubara Fort is one of the largest and best preserved fortress of 19th century merchant town in the Gulf. The fort is situated in the town of Al Zubarah. Some say that it was built to serve as a police station but it was only later that it was renovated to a museum to showcase diverse exhibits and artworks. It is considered as one of the most important archaeological site in Qatar.


Heritage library

It is one of the biggest library in Doha that comprises of over 51,000 books in Arabic as well as various other different languages. The library also consists of 600 antique maps, 2,000 manuscripts and 6,000 original photographs. It will soon be one of the biggest research centres in the Middle East. Dhow boat ride is one of the best activities that you would love to participate in at Doha. The sail starts from Corniche and ends close to the Al Safliya island.
