Carlton Gardens Overview
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the postcard-perfect Carlton Gardens is home to the majestic Melbourne Museum and the stunning Royal Exhibition Building. Dating back to the late 19th century, these lush gardens also shelter the brilliantly architectured Victorian-era Hochgurtel Fountain. The Carlton Gardens also showcase beautiful formal flower beds, breathtaking ornamental lakes, striking tree-lined avenues, and the awe-inspiring circular French fountain.

One of the kids-friendly places to see in Victoria, these gardens also house a children’s playground and a tennis court. You can also see Moreton Bay Fig trees here, which formed the site where the traditional Aboriginal people once met and fraternized.
