About Vijayraghavgarh Fort
Jabalpur has a great collection of historical places to entice history buffs with its rich cultural history. Vijayraghavgarh Fort, located in the ancient town of Vijayraghavgarh is one of the best specimens offering an exploration into the history of this city. Built in the 19th century by King Prayag Das of Jabalpur Riyasat, Vijayraghavgarh Fort is a famous historical site in Jabalpur.
The fort was later captured by the British, and some of its parts were destroyed during the attack. Made of sandstone, this fort exhibits a modest yet compelling architecture. It constitutes many interesting places, namely Rang Mahal, Samadhi Sthal, Antah Puram and Sita Temple. The fort can be conveniently visited during a journey between Khajuraho and Bandhavgarh.
