Bharadwaj Ashram, Prayagraj (Allahabad)

The Bharadwaj Ashram is a temple and Ashram located in Prayagraj. This place is devoted to the story of Bhardwaj and how he brought the Ganges to the Earth. According to a mythical legend, after Ganga agreed to descend to the Earth, Bharadwaj prayed to Lord Shiva to catch Ganga’s flow before she fell onto the Earth just to avoid floods in the world.

Previously, the steps of the Ashram were submerged in the river. However, the river today is limited to the Sangam Area. Visit here to understand the depths of Indian mythology better and have a look at this calming yet exquisite ashrama. It is one of the best places to see in Allahabad.
