Windhoek happens to be the capital city of Namibia which is located in the central highlands in the famous Khomas Highland Plateau area. It is situated at an elevation of about 1700 meters above the sea level at the geographical centre of the city.

The city was initially built in the year 1840 but due to destruction it was founded a second time in the year 1890 by Imperial German Army Major Curt Von Francois.
