Its a short but action packed Ladakh trip full of fun-filled activities. At a distance of 125kms Westwards from Leh, on a miraculously pulchritudinous road, exists the classic royal monastery famous as Swastika or Yung - drung. On this trek there are several villages which stand among the richest in Ladakh tour package. This particular terrain is known as Sham valley or Apricot valley. It is one of the oldest in Ladakh, and belongs to the Kargyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. For that extra adrenaline rush one can enjoy thrilling and adventurous biking from Tsokar to Tsomoriri Lake. To top it up one could enjoy white water rafting along the Zanskar River right from Chilling to Nimo. It is known as Baby trek. The name is due to its lower altitude and the passes and comparatively less walking hours. One will notice how a stream of chilly water has led to an oasis of life amidst barren wilderness. Through the sham valley and the ancient kingdom of Sham, we discover the main Ladakhi monasteries and the wonderful sites surrounding them: Shey, Thikse, Hemis, Spituk, Phyang, Lamayuru and Alchi are all accessible by road, and Temisgang, Ridzong and Likir line the trekking route. The paths are of moderate difficulty and it does not rise above 4500m. T he track crosses numerous villages where the people have kept their Tibetan ways and customs. A camera is a must for this tour and one can take it as a Photography trip also and shoot the landscape as well as people. We also have the option of staying in a local house during this trek as it traverses through some houses; specially appointed for village Homestay. The Ladakh trek involves a series of pass crossings and first day is the drive to Timsogam a small village and then the trek starts with ascending a slope which leads us to the pass crossing over the Rongthil la( 4,000m) and then another pass the Muptak la( 3,800m) is crossed and finally the large village of Hemis Shukpachan is reached. Next days walk is a level walk till the base of Tsermangchan la which is crossed after a gentle ascend at 4,600m and a further descend leads us to the village of Yangtang. Next days walk is also an easy walk and after crossing Chagtse pass at 4,200m descend to the village of Likir which is connected to road and houses a large monastery. Visit the monastery and then walk to the village of Rafta. Once we cross the Mandang la pass (4,100m) we will reach Umla and from here its comparatively an easy trek to the village of Taroo, which is a big village just behind the village of Phyang which houses an important monastery in Ladakh tour. As a matter of fact the Phayang festival which happens to fall in July is equally famous. From here we take a final drive to Leh. Rafting: A 3 hour adrenaline packed rafting experience on the Zanskar for the thrill maniacs. It starts down right from the famous Hemis monastery. You would float alongside the villages of the Indus Valley (the cradle of civilization) i.e. Stakna, Shey, Thiksey, Choushot with Choglamsar as the finishing point. Biking: Our move to include mountain biking holidays is an obvious step. This programme has now grown to include biking in the remote valleys of Lahaul, Ladakh, Kulu, Sikkim and the eastern Himalayas. The fully supported Leh - Manali bike ride is now an established classic, crossing three high passes, the highest being over 5600 mtrs, and with a total descent of over 10000 mtrs.

Rafting in Ladakh probably is the most indulging activity in Zanskar travel. Rafting is done in the highly challenging Zanskar River. The rafting experience takes you through one of the most breathtaking gorges of the World. The water in the river is freezing cold and it is advisable that you take this ride only with a wet suit on. This exhilarating adventure through the entire river takes around four days and in between, you will spend the nights in camps set up on the rocky banks itself. Apart from river rafting, trekking also attracts huge number of adventure lovers to these lands. Zanskar has few of the highest mountain passes in the country. The trek routes through them are surely enthralling but trekking here requires ability to take immense physical strain. The most famous trek route is named Chadar Trek. The trek is carried out on the frozen Zanskar river during the winter season. You will have to take extra precautions and clothing as you will be literally walking over ice. Other breathtaking treks are Padum to Lamayuru which takes around 12-16 days and Padam to Leh which is 15-17 day long trek.

Ladakh's biggest attraction is its ancient Gompas, or Buddhist monasteries, which contain some of Asia's greatest wonders of gold and tapestry work. We planned for this trip to Ladakh last June along with my friends. It was a sudden trip cause we dicided to go to Dehradun but instead decided for the Ladakh trip. We booked the tour from Thrillophilia. Everything was very well arranged for us. We were provided with the best accommodation and food. We also had camping in this package which was like a double treat for all of us. It was a great adventure camping under the clear night sky. We visited the famous museum Hall of fame and then Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hil. We also drive to the Nubra Valley via Khardung la pass. The best part of the whole trip was our visit to the Pangong Lake. We all keep staring at the lake as it colour is so beautiful. Also, you can enjoy the glorious sunset here. We departed on the 9 th day with lots of memories. Loved the whole trip.

A memorable trip with my friends. I thought a lot before booking this trip. But my friends told me I had to have good physical fitness to protect myself from the cold and everything else will be fine. Thus I joined the team. There were other tourists also with us. Together we had a good time in an amazing place. Though I like to take photographs, most of the times I forgot to click the pictures because I wanted to enjoy the beauty of Ladakh with my naked eyes. I was asking the guide with us to explain the importance of each location we covered. He has been guiding a hundred teams for last some years, so he knew everything about the location and he even clearly knew when we should camp and when we should stop cycling and all. The team with him was very supportive and helping. Totally, a very good trip.

I can say it was a great trip and that too at a reasonable price. Last summer I booked this sightseeing tour to Ladakh along with few of my friends. The tour was for 9 days and everything was included in the package. After the booking process everything went on smooth. We were provided with all the facilities during our tour. And we had the most wonderful guide; he was not only taking care of our needs but also cracked few jokes to keep us all happy. Accommodation and food was also good. We visited some of the monasteries and it totally revived us from our tiredness. The best part of our trip was our camping , we had the most amazing views during the night time.

A complete package with a lot of adventurous moments. I have been mentally preparing to do this bike trip for some months. My friends also were with me. You need a lot of patience and strength to do the trip because you have to cross the tough roads which are not so smooth and they are narrow most of the times. But we had the best experience as we were passing through the amazing spots. Snow covered peaks, green valleys, blossomed meadows and unique streams gave us peace and happiness. Well-informed guide and a support team were with us. A back up vehicle to help if you find any difficulty during the trip. It was one of the best bike trips I have done.

It was simply superb superb superb as a whole. There were a lot of difficulties in between but when i think about the experience, every difficulty seems to be negligible. We had to ride a lot every day, but were allowed to relax at times near any stream or spend some time near the peaks. The Pangong Lake was looking so beautiful from a far distance itself. The peaks near the lake give more beauty to the lake. We did rafting also in Ladakh which was an amazing adventure. Also, carry your license always with you.

If you are going for the first time, you have to read about the places and weather conditions of the locations from somewhere or make sure that you are well informed about the place. The roads are not tarred and clean like in the city, so carefully ride to avoid falling frequently down. I found Khardung La Pass quite challenging and difficult to cross as my bike had some problem on the way. Everything else seemed good for me. All the locations were beautiful, especially the lakes and valleys.

Comparing to other Ladakh trips, this was a short trip for 10 days but all the ten days of it offered the best it could. We saw the nature changing itself during the trip. It was an incomparable view. Cycling was the most exciting part of the trip. The rough roads were a challenge but had a great time.

Great trip! I went with my collegues for this tour. Our lodging and food was average. We were joined by another group of people. Everything was well organized for our accommodation and food. The only thing was that you will have to buy your lunch at your own cost. Overall it was good trip.
