Which all bikes are best for a Ladakh trip?

If you ask the question in general, the most common answer you would get is a Royal Enfield. Even people who rode a different bike at home seek to borrow a RE or rent one. But, once you open your mind and take a closer look at the demands, the options are more. While there is no best motorcycle as such, you will need to consider a vehicle that will hold your luggage.

Other factors for choosing a motorcycle include questions like if you have a pillion, the age of the bike you aim to drive and more. A more powerful bike will obviously give you the maximum support in this terrain but even a lighter motorcycle can do the job if it is in good condition.

Overall, your choices can be from a Royal Enfield, Bajaj Pulsar, Hero Impulse, Yamaha FZ/Fazer, RE Himalayan, Bajaj Vikrant, CBR 50 and KTM Duke.

Should I learn how to be a bike mechanic before Ladakh Trip?

It is particularly essential that you ride a perfectly fine vehicle. Servicing your bike, whether you are hiring a vehicle or taking your own is important to ensure a smooth drive. Are Leh and Ladakh same?

The answer is yes and no. Allow us to explain.

The state of Jammu and Kashmir is divided into three different regions. They are - Jammu, Kashmir Valley, and Ladakh. The latter is the northernmost part of the state and it shares its borders with Pakistan and China. The state only had one district till 1979, but post that, it was divided into two.

These two districts are - Kargil and Leh. Leh is the capital city, as well as the largest district of Ladakh, located in the northeastern part of the region. When people talk about touring ‘Leh Ladakh’, they usually mean the Leh region of Ladakh, which is known for its stunning natural beauty and breathtaking vistas.

Coming back to the question, in a sense, yes, Leh Ladakh are the same because the famous tourist destination is Leh, which is a part of Ladakh province. When people talk about going on a visit to Leh Ladakh, they are referring to Leh district and there is no separate ‘Ladakh’ region to explore.

But if we consider geographically, they are not the same because Ladakh is much larger than Leh, and envelops the district along with Kargil. Leh is a part of Ladakh, but we cannot say that the two entities are the same.

How far is Ladakh from Leh

When tourists and travellers talk about going to ‘Leh Ladakh’ - it always sounds as if they are two different places far apart from each other, and that is why it has become a very common query to ask how far away the two places are from each other. But the truth is that the answer to that question is impossible because Leh is, in fact, the capital of Ladakh.

The state of Jammu and Kashmir is divided into three different regions. Two of them are, as the name indicates, Jammu province and Kashmir Valley, and the third region is Ladakh. Ladakh is the northernmost part of J&K, and it is adjacent to Indo-Pakistan and Indo-Chinese borders. In 1979, Ladakh was divided into two districts. One of them is Leh, which is also the capital city, and the other is Kargil.

Leh is the part of Ladakh which is famous among tourists, and people from all over the country travel to see the beauty of this area. People tend to get confused about the name of the region, but what they call Leh Ladakh usually only refers to Leh.

Since Ladakh comprises both Kargil and Leh, you cannot determine a fixed distance between the two. Ladakh covers the entire northeastern region of the state of J&K, and Leh is its largest district.

How to reach Ladakh?

By Bus

There are two highways that go from the major cities in North India all the way to Leh. These are Leh-Srinagar highway and Leh-Manali highway.

Leh-Manali highway covers over 490 kilometres, going through Rohtang, Gramphu, Darcha, Baralacha La, Lachulung La, Tanglang La, Gya and Karu. The Manali Highway is open from May to September, and it is considered as one of the safest ways to travel to Ladakh.

On the other hand, Leh-Srinagar highway stretches over 434 kilometres and covers Sonmarg, Zoji La Pass, Kargil, Mulbek, and Saspol. This highway is open only from May to October. It is one of the most adventurous roads in the world because of the rough terrain, and the narrow Zoji La pass located several thousands of metres above the sea level. It is not recommended to take this path during winters, because the roads can get slippery and it can be difficult to cross the pass. It is safe to reach Leh by air in winters as the Srinagar-Leh Highway may be closed from Sonamarg due to snow.

Private buses, as well as government-run services, from Srinagar and Manali, are easily available. The Srinagar highway is only open to buses from June to October, while the Manali route is open from June to September. This is because of the closure of Rohtang Pass due to heavy snowfall in winters.

By Train

The nearest railway station to Ladakh is 700 kilometres away in Tawi. Although it receives trains from all major Indian cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi, it is not recommended to take this route. Cab fare to go from Tawi to Ladakh is extremely high. In peak tourist season, it will cost you anywhere from INR 10000 to 15000 to hire a private taxi. Not only that, but it will also take you 2 to 3 days to reach Ladakh from the railway station.

By Air

This is the most convenient method to reach Ladakh. Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, located in Leh, receives International flights from Delhi, as well as domestic flights from Srinagar, Chandigarh and Jammu.

From the airport, you can take a taxi to reach your hotel. It is advisable to book accommodation before booking tickets, especially if you are travelling in peak season. The airport also has strict security because it is a military terminal, so make sure that you have all the documentation you need. Flight from Delhi to Leh starts at prices as low as INR 8000.

By Bike/Car

It is not uncommon for tourists to embark on a journey to Leh on a bike. The route offers some of the most scenic views of the valley, and biking on the beautiful roads is a popular vacationist activity in Leh Ladakh.

As mentioned above, there are two highways that you can take to reach your destination. But if you are a novice, it is not advisable to go via the Srinagar Highway as it can be quite dangerous.

It is also important to pick a sturdy bike for your travels. The terrain in this area is quite rocky, so choose a bike that has higher displacement. You can also hire a motorcycle from Srinagar or Manali. Depending on the season and the brand, it can cost anywhere from INR 1700 to INR 3500 per day. If you are planning to hire a bike, do carry important identity documents, as the service provider may ask for them.

Is it safe to travel to Leh Ladakh

Although thousands of tourists visit Leh Ladakh every year, it is understandable if you are still apprehensive about travelling to the place. The high altitude, unavailability of modern facilities, winding roads, harsh weather conditions, rough terrain, and conflict in parts of Jammu and Kashmir - all of these factors contribute to the uncertainty people feel when planning a trip to this region.

To clear the air in one word -- yes, Ladakh is completely safe to visit. A more detailed response will depend on what aspect you are most worried about.

1. Rough Terrain

Leh Ladakh is perfectly safe for travelling, as long as you take care of some safety measures. Follow the aforementioned precautions and plan your vacation today. It will be one of the most unparalleled experiences of your life. Choose a vehicle, preferably an SUV, which not just provides space and comfort but also keeps moving on bumpy roads.

The winding roads with broken and bad conditions often scare drivers from visiting the stunning location altogether. The dry and cold weather, along with rough and rocky terrain only tend to add to the fear.

While all that is not invalid, the spectacular natural splendor of the valley certainly makes up for it. You can hire a taxi if you are unsure about your own driving skills, and you can undergo training that will help you thrive and survive in Leh Ladakh. It is natural to worry about these things, but thousands of people undertake the trip every year and while the terrain may not exactly be unsafe, it is certainly difficult.

2. Altitude Problems

The highway to Leh Ladakh from Srinagar and Manali allows for a gradual increase in altitude, so as long as you do not exert yourself, your body will be able to adjust to the change on its own. Acute mountain sickness, which causes headache, dizziness and nausea at high altitudes, is only a risk when there is a sudden change in altitude. Still, it would be precautionary to take some emergency medication with you and avoid drinking and smoking on your way. If you take basic precautions and keep yourself hydrated, your journey will get a lot enjoyable.

3. Turmoil in Kashmir

Kashmir has witnessed disturbance over the last few years, and it may cause apprehension among some people, but you may go via Sonmarg which is 3 hours away from Srinagar.
Although the people welcome tourists, it is advisable to not wander around or go to unknown places. To ease your woes, make sure you have a local contact in case of an emergency. Rallies in Kashmir rarely have any impact on Ladakh, so you should be safe on your trip to Ladakh.

4. Safety in Ladakh

The people of Ladakh are warm and welcoming. The peace-loving hosts will ensure that despite the low mobile connectivity and remoteness of the place, you will not feel homesick or unsafe, even if you are a solo traveller or a female traveller. If you get stuck anywhere due to non-availability of resources like fuel and food, do not worry! Apart from the helpful locals, you will meet many tourists who will flock on the same roads on Ladakh as you, and you can always bank on them to rescue you in case of an emergency.

5. Chinese Intrusions

The problem of intrusions by Chinese soldiers is only relevant in places that are close to the Indo-Chinese border. Most of the border adjacent villages are quite far away from tourist destinations on your way. You will not witness any army presence or security issues as long as you stay on your path.

So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags already, because the mountains are calling!

Is Ladakh safe for tourists?

A lot of people are afraid of undertaking a trip to this magical destination because of several factors, like rough terrain, harsh weather, high altitude, and political problems in Kashmir Valley. But the truth is that the region is extremely safe for tourists. Why else would thousands of people visit Leh every year and return with unparalleled memories?

Sure, Kashmir sees cross-border attacks and incursions, but none of it is anywhere close to Leh, Ladakh. Even Chinese intrusions are only common in villages that are adjacent to the border. The turmoil in Kashmir is only centred around Srinagar, and if you want to be extremely safe, you can avoid taking the Srinagar Leh Highway. Kargil is also free of any political turmoil, so rest assured that you will not be caught in the middle of any unrest in the valley.

Now coming to the harsh weather conditions, rough terrain, winding roads, and the problem of high altitude. It is no secret that all these problems do exist in Ladakh, but there are precautions that can be taken to make your journey easier. Most of the high passes will reward you with remarkable beauty you will not see anywhere else. The landscape may be barren and the terrain rocky, but it only takes a day or two for getting used to it, and the sight of majestic mountain peaks all around you more than makes up for it.

High altitude results in thin air and low air pressure that may cause difficulty in breathing and Acute Mountain Sickness. The weather is dry and cold, with temperatures at night dropping below freezing point. All these problems can be tackled if you follow a well-planned itinerary and take some precautions. Carry medicines with you at all times, take a rest every few hours, and stay hydrated.

Is Pangong Lake camping safe?

Recently, around the mid of September 2018, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed to remove all the illegal camping settlements, restaurants, Dhabas and huts in and around the Pangong Lake of Ladakh. These had recently come up in order to meet the demands of irresponsible tourists. In fact, under the orders of the notice, even the sites by the Indian Army have been asked to relocate to some other nearby area.

This responsible initiative by the High Court was taken under the negative circumstances of a very irresponsible wave of tourism that Ladakh has lately witnessed, which has largely followed the fame of the popular Bollywood film '3 Idiots' and the age of 'Instagram' and blooming 'Travel Influencers'. Considering the ecological fragility of the Pangong Lake, it has seen terrible ecological footprints that have resulted in contamination of the lake, the lakeside and also of the flora and fauna of the region.

Planning a Trip to Ladakh, Check Out Top Curated Ladakh Tour Packages

Into the unconsciousness of this issue, a lot of campsites that had failed to operate under the coverage of this notice were demolished by the higher authorities to ensure the knack of sustainable tourism and more importantly for the conservation and preservation of the Pangong Lake.

Therefore, considering the mold of how the legal authorities in Ladakh are ensuring the sustainability of the Pangong Lake over the development of commercial campsites and ignorance of feckless tourists, the complete frenzy of camping has been rubbed off the Pangong Lake.

Hence, it is not legally safe to camp by the banks of Pangong Lake. However, this in no way means, you cannot visit Pangong Lake. Pangong Tso is ideally welcoming tourists for a short day's trip where you get to enjoy the scenic panorama and the blue hues of the Pangong Tso minus the ecologically fragile idea of camping.

Is there any oxygen problem in Leh?

Leh is located at a high altitude - nearly 10,000 feet above sea level. As one climbs higher, the amount of oxygen in the air begins to fall. So, yes, there is less oxygen in Leh, as compared to low altitude and plane areas.

Effects of low oxygen levels:

Low oxygen levels and a decrease in air pressure can be harmful to people who suffer from asthma, respiratory problems, and for senior citizens. It may get difficult for them to breathe. Thin air can also result in Acute Mountain Sickness or AMS. Your body may not have enough time to adapt to the quickly changing environment. Paired with low oxygen, and highly demanding activities like trekking and hiking can further aggravate the problem. AMS itself may cause headache, fatigue, stomach problems, nausea, dizziness, and even vomiting.

Suggested Read: Guide for How to Rent a Bike in Ladakh

Acclimatization:

But there are certain steps that can be taken to prevent these problems. First of all, low oxygen causes problems like AMS only when there is a sudden change in altitude. The terrain of Leh is such that there is a gradual increase in altitude, so most people get used to less oxygen slowly over the course of their journey. People who have medical problems should carry medication and get the approval of their doctors. The key is to travel slowly, and not strain your body. Allow yourself to get acclimatized to the surroundings. Also, take care not to drink or smoke.

Medicines to carry:

Remember to take all necessary medication like Diamox, Aspirin, and Dexamethasone with you. You can also opt to carry oxygen cylinders if you suffer from asthma and the problems get severe. Make a list of all the hospitals and medical dispensaries nearby in case of an emergency. Get a complete physical checkup before you leave too, and ask your doctor if it is okay for you to undertake the trip.

General precautions against AMS

The low oxygen problem in Leh is not really a ‘problem,’ if you make a proper Ladakh trip itinerary and allow your body some time to rest and recharge. As soon as you land in Leh, take a day off just to acclimatize. Drink plenty of water, and stay away from overexertion. If you start feeling any symptoms of AMS, treat them right away. Avoid overheating, alcohol, and cigarettes. If you are prone to AMS, do not spend too much time at high altitude passes, and ascend the altitude slowly.

Leh is breathtaking in its beauty. Enjoy the spectacular vistas to the fullest by following the aforementioned precautions.

Which car is best for Ladakh trip?

A road trip to Ladakh is a dream trip for every adventure enthusiast. As the magnificent passes entice you with their beauty, it is important to ensure that you are travelling in a vehicle which provides comfort and makes your journey enjoyable. At the same time, your car should be capable of treading on the serpentine roads and formidably move ahead even when there is no surfaced road! After all, the off-roading sojourns coupled with uncertainty is what makes a road trip to Ladakh the most adventurous.

People visit Ladakh in hatchbacks and sedans, but there is always a risk of breaking the car or your back on the weary stretches. Hence, it is advisable to travel in a 4x4 SUV which can pretty much take any challenge head-on.

Here are the factors which one needs to keep in mind before selecting a car for Ladakh trip:

Roads: The roads in Ladakh can be tricky. With unpredictable weather and lack of surfaced roads, it is advisable to visit the place in a car which has a high ground clearance of at least 180mm – a major advantage in SUVs. Your best partner to counter the unpredictable roads in Ladakh will be an SUV which can cruise through steep climbs, rivers flowing across roads and the most difficult terrains. Cars like Scorpio, Thar, Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Innova have a high ground clearance, which gives you an added advantage during your journey.

Engine: Depending upon the number of people travelling, you may choose a car with a powerful engine. You must keep in mind that the car will not only transport the people but also their baggage, which adds a lot to the weight, especially on steep ascents. You can choose to travel in cars like Toyota Fortuner, Pajero, or Mahendra Scorpio, which are very much able to pull it off in difficult terrain.

Fuel Capacity: You may not find petrol pumps frequently on your trip to Ladakh. It is advisable to travel in a car with a higher fuel capacity for longer stretches like Leh to Manali, so that you can concentrate on the mesmerising beauty around and do not have to constantly look at the fuel indicator.

Space: Ladakh is an arduous journey, and you may want to carry proper clothes and accessories on this adventurous trip. Pack your bags with the necessities and load them in a car which provides ample space for baggage. After all, you may want to stretch your limbs from time to time while travelling on bumpy roads, and a cluttered car will only cause you inconvenience. While choosing your car, ensure that you keep in mind the space required to accommodate the baggage you are carrying on your trip to Ladakh.

Length: Although car space is an important factor to consider, you must keep in mind the sharp and blind turns you will have to pass through on your journey. To avoid difficulties in taking sharp turns, it is advisable to avoid sedans and travel in an SUV which can accommodate your baggage without taking more space on the road.

Apart from these factors, it is advisable to get your car serviced before setting off for Ladakh to eliminate any probable failure during the journey.

Thrillophilia’s Project Ladakh

Over 1.5 lakh people visit Ladakh every year and of those, 10,000 choose to travel with Thrillophilia. It is no surprise to anyone that Ladakh is slowly emerging as one of the most famous tourist hotspots in India. Over the last few years, we have created 55 new products with itineraries that are designed as per client demands.

We have also crafted over 20 new programs collaborating with locals in order to boost tourism in the valley. Our marketing team has worked hard to promote Ladakh on our website. With 650,000 visitors on our platform last year alone, and over 250 social media posts with a reach of nearly 500,000 - Thrillophilia’s team has made its mark in the online market. We also crafted 150 content pieces to provide website visitors with any information they may need before planning their Ladakh trip.

Giving back to the community

We work hard not just to deliver excellent products to our customers, but our platform also engages with locals in order to expand the monetary growth of the locals. Thrillophilia is engaged with 25 local operators in the region, with nearly 400 Ladakhis involved in our projects. Our company conducts Leh Ladakh tours for nearly 10,000 customers and believes in giving back to the community by hiring locals to conduct the tours.

Consider the story of Tani, a local Ladakhi, who did not have any job prospects, no education, and consequently, no future when we first met him. But everything changed after we did. The Thrillophilia team recognized that although he may not know how to read, he has unparalleled motorcycle riding skills in the mountains, and that’s what makes him special. He did not have any experience in the travel industry, but we recognized that with just a little bit of training, he could prove to be a valuable member of the team.

Tani is now a permanent member of a local Thrillophilia crew, and he acts as a co-leader on several bike trips throughout the year. Not only has this helped him put food on the table, he also has a newfound purpose in life and he is excited to wake up every day to go to work. We are not just a travel operator looking to make a quick buck, we care deeply for the community, and believe in giving back, as much as we care about our customers.

If you choose to travel with us, not only will you get a customized tour package with the best services at an economic rate, you will also be donating indirectly to the hundreds of Ladakhi homes connected with Thrillophilia. Our brand has created a steady income for these families, not to mention the fact that by boosting tourism in the region, we have also generated a revenue stream for locals not working with us.

It is indeed a matter of pride for us that we have helped put food in the mouths of hundreds of people and raised the standard of living for these families. By altogether eliminating the role of the middlemen, we have given these families a chance to work for their livelihood by empowering them with knowledge and experiences.

Education in Ladakh

Besides empowering the locals be eliminating the need of a middle agent, we have also endeavoured to push the next generation towards a brighter future. We have helped in setting up a computer lab in a school in Ladakh so that the Ladakhi kids can ride the wave of Digital India just like the rest of the country.

It is no surprise to anyone that connecting with the rest of the world is perhaps the best way to learn more and expand your horizons. By helping the local kids get in touch with the internet, we are empowering them to shape their own future and helped lessen the ‘remoteness’ of the region. We have also collaborated with Project Milaap and contributed solar lanterns to the locals. You can join the project too and make a contribution.

By choosing to make a booking with us, you will be choosing a top-notch service for yourself. But at the same time, you will also be making a contribution to the betterment of the local community and helped Ladakhis achieve their dreams. Now that’s what we call a win-win.

AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness): Acute Mountain Sickness is your biggest foe during this trek. Make sure you acclimatize a week prior so as to get your body acquainted with the low temperature and reduce the chances of getting AMS.

Hypothermia: Hypothermia is a condition when your body loses heat a higher rate than it can produce. Common Altitude related issues:

1. AMS: Acute Mountain Sickness or AMS refers to the condition where a person suffers constant uneasiness at an elevated altitude due to low air pressure and lack of required oxygen levels. Though human bodies can adjust to the diverse conditions with the required time in hand, there is a limit to everything. An altitude beyond 26,000 feet is called the death zone by the mountaineers as no one can acclimatize to this elevation.

The body starts reacting after it reaches a height of 7,000 feet above sea level. Chadar trek is at an elevation 11,400 feet hence your body reacts and finds it difficult to adapt to the extreme situations that come with such high altitude. Giving your body to get used to the temperature and altitude is very crucial in such case and especially if you dwell in a place that experiences hot climate.

The acclimatization process starts from the day you reach Ladakh. It is advisable that you should come here one week or minimum 3-4 days prior to your expedition so that your body gets enough time before facing the harsh temperature and is well up for the exertion you are going to encounter the following week. You must not take part in any physical activity or anything that would tire your muscles as they can make you prone to the symptoms of AMS including headache, nausea, lack of appetite and dizziness.

Let your body get acquainted with the sub-zero temperature of the Himalayan terrain. Make sure you let your team leader know if these symptoms persist during the trek as it would be better to stop while they are on the lower pressing than if they become severe as it will take around 24 hours to get you medical assistance once you are on the trail.

2. Cold:

Though cold sounds too obvious and normal at such high altitudes, it has effects that can be very fatal, leading to your empty-handed return. While you are bound to struggle with the temperature fluctuations of the day and night, it makes the body more vulnerable to catch a cold. Ensure that you carry cold-related medicines like crocin along with inhalers to help you keep the cold in control.

Rightly said, prevention is better than cure, you should be well prepared with the required clothing and other essentials. The catch is to not let any skin exposed to the cold, not even your face. You must ensure that you’re in the five-layered clothing and also cover your face with a balaclava and ears with a beanie to let no cold air seep in. Not to forget your hands, make sure you wear two layers of gloves - one to prevent the cold and the other waterproof over it to prevent the inner layer from getting wet.

3. Cough:

The dry and cold air of the mountains has tremendous effects on your bronchial tube including irritation and pain as you advance the altitude. Sometimes it gets too severe to bear and hence you must keep cough drops and candies handy during the trek. Try not to breathe from your mouth as it worsens the condition.

Breathing humified air by covering your nose with a scarf, balaclava or mask is a good way to reduce the hurt and irritation. Make sure that you consume hot water and fluids which are soothing for your throat. Avoid consuming coffee and alcohol as they dehydrate your body turning the tables against you completely.

4. Breathing problem:

Chadar trek isn’t like the usual treks where you have to climb the rugged rocks but involves walking on the ice sheet surface of the frozen Zanskar river. The low oxygen level along with the atmospheric pressure will make breathing a daunting task for you. This may also increase because of walking fast at this high altitude or because of a lack of proper acclimatization. Acclimatization is a solution to major problems when it comes to high altitude, therefore it is considered a very crucial part of your expedition.

Also, trekking on Chadar Trek includes walking briskly as the ice below is too slippery and might not be as solid as you perceive, hence there is no use of moving fast. You may also avoid a lot of injuries that can happen because of your pace. Take a short break and inform the trek leader anytime you feel short of breath. This is something that needs immediate attention, do not take it casually. Sit for a while and let your breathing become normal, not strained and then only decide to walk.

The trek groups usually have oxygen cylinders and equipment like oxygen masks to handle such emergencies. Do not continue the trek if you still the breathing problem still persists. It might become severe as you proceed further in the journey and be a life hazard This trek should not be done in haste but cautiously, take your time and enjoy the journey.

How to deal with Altitude sickness on Chadar trek?

Though Chadar trek lacks elevation, the prevailing high altitude has its own perks. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) or Altitude Sickness arises when you cross a height 0f 7,000 feet above sea level. At the altitude of 11,400 feet above sea level, it is obvious that your body would react to the increased elevation. Acclimatization is the key to beat AMS, yet it requires a series of things to keep in mind.

You must reach Ladakh a week prior to your Chadar trek excursion so as to let the body get acquainted with the subzero temperatures. You must also avoid covering an altitude of 300-500 meters on the same day as it is an invitation to mountain sickness. Keep in mind the symptoms for AMS that include headache, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, cough, and tiredness, and look out for any other problem that you’ve started facing after arriving.

People usually consume medicines for AMS beforehand so as to avoid trouble yet it is no hard and fast rule. Some people face bearable issues whereas some face life-threatening ones too. Make sure you carry a first-aid kit with Diamox in it. You must consult a doctor prior to your trekking schedule and take the prescribed medicines for acclimatization and AMS.

How to get acclimatize with high altitude on Chadar trek?

The catch to acclimatize with high altitude on Chadar Trek is to reach Ladakh a week before your trek. In this period you must not take up any muscle exerting or tedious activity. You can go for sightseeing or walk along with the local market and let your body adjust to the subzero temperature. Try to avoid heaters while you are staying at your hotel as it won’t let you acclimatize to the prevailing weather conditions.

Let go of the quilts, body warming essentials and alcohol, as no matter, these are considered helpful, they actually increase the chances to fall into the pit of Acute Mountain Sickness or Altitude Sickness. Make sure you keep your body hydrated and supply it with hot water and hot fluids from time to time. Avoid trekking an elevation of more than 500 meters as it becomes difficult for the body to adjust a height difference beyond that. Though the human body can adapt to survive, there is a limit to adapting as well as time element involved too. Happy trekking!
